The emoji/phone conversation game is interesting. Here are a few phone conversational skills I’ve learned
👍 is for old people or non regular users. Also means you are busy or have nothing else to say. Essentially “Got it, leave me alone”
Turn off your “read” on your texts. The only thing worse than no response is letting the person know you read it and still didn’t respond
Replying and saying you will answer the text later is better than letting it sit a day or two with no answer
Turn off your “sent from an iPhone”. I have had so many people say how busy they are and respond from a phone. Real work is not done on a phone. I worked with someone that responded all day from a phone and then sent a million emails at 4 as the day was ending. It was obvious they were playing all day and then would finish up a few hour at the end of each day
Send voice messages instead of long texts. Makes it easier on everyone
Send texts in one big text. Nobody likes 7 sentences in 7 texts. ding, ding,ding, ding ,ding,
Finally, if you are at a big event or large place and have friends meeting you. Just share your location with them temporarily. It takes 1 minute to add them. I see people guiding friends to where they are and they could give them a literal map right to their feet.
