You meet some dandies when you work retail and yesterday was no exception.
I had a call on the radio “Someone needs help in the rock lot” I was all the way on the other side of the nursery but nobody answered so I headed to the rock lot. Normally people have their stone on carts and just need me to weigh them or verify the weight. New people don’t know the procedure so I usually tell them them how to put them in carts and we’ll do the rest. If its too heavy we can help. This guy said he wanted some stone but had a few questions.
He was looking at the 3″ flat pebbles. We usually sell them for aquariums or people paint them. They’re colorful and flat so a perfect canvas. They’re also one of our more expensive rocks at 50 cents a pound. I asked him if I could help him.
“I have a question?” “How much is 10lbs of this rock ?”
I looked at him like he was joking and started to giggle. But as he just stood there I realized he was being serious. I sarcastically said well 10 times 50 cents in $5. He said
“Great. $5. Hmmmm. Ok, How about 25lbs.?”
I immediately said $12.50, realizing math was not his thing and we needed to get to how much stone he needed.
“12.50……………….Give me $15 worth”
So I loaded up 30lbs on the cart and asked what vehicle to place it in. He said
“It’s in that old white pickup with Buzz Lightyear dragging behind it. And if you see Woodie let me know I’d like to add him to the collection”
He was right, there was a buzz light year doll strapped to the back but he was short a whole lot more than a Woody.
Quote of the Day: “Never regret a day in your life: good days give happiness, bad days give experience, worst days give lessons, and best days give memories.”
Domain of the Day: CryptoTrader.net It’s a dot net but its still going to be one of the most wanted names on the board
Remember to click the links to see the current prices and if you are going to pay for a name do it while visiting DSAD.com. It pays for the gas to run the ship.
