I hate the insurance market. I understand how it works, it’s what my wife does for a living. Insurance costs are spread over their entire base of customers. Evidently not very well. Health insurance and now home and car insurance is in shambles and insurers are dropping the people the bottom 20% that have the most claims. After 30 years with my home and car, I got canceled from Hanover. They said it was because of my daughter’s accidents. My daughter’s accidents were in NY. A no-fault insurance state. If you don’t know what that is, if you get in an accident in NY you pay for your own damage regardless of the cause. If you want to sue the other insurance to have them pay you have that right. In my daughter’s case, she was hit twice with damages of $2K and $7K. The $7k she was hit by a group of 4 girls that had stolen their work vehicle without permission and taken it on a joy ride. Neither damage amount was greater than the cause of a legal fight so they paid it. Then canceled me.
I have to add in that we had $100K worth of damage to my house in a hail storm. It was pretty bad. New roof, new siding all the way around, new garage door, and front windows. The insurance company took a hit. You know when they didn’t take a hit? The first 30 years. It’s not like we’re riskier now than when we were. If anything, the law of averages says you want to add us since we had the big claim. Daughter moved to a different “normal” insurance state. Either way, I expected our rates to go up, just not canceled. I’m sure I can find someone willing to give us insurance but it doesn’t look good when you just got dropped.

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by us, Shane and Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.
