Over the past few years, I’ve invested a small part of my portfolio in a number of earlier stage biotech stocks. It reminds me of investing in domains in some ways, because you know that several (most even) are going to fail. But when good things happen to a company in the biotech space, the rewards can be enormous. One that I’m invested in doubled in the past two days based on very positive trial results and who knows where it could go from here if the company is swallowed up by a larger player in the next year or two. If I sell the stock on Monday, I will have turned $5k into $15k over a two year period. Not bad at all, but the returns are often so much sweeter with domains. Typically, if I was purchasing a domain for $5k, I would be looking to sell it for at least $50k. The amount of money I invest in domains is not small, but it is a tiny fraction of my total investments. I often wonder if this is dumb, and should I be shifting more money out of the stock market and into domains. I wonder, and then I wuss out and continue doing things the same way.

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by us. (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.
Buy some physical gold/silver and you will be set.
Set, maybe not, but it has it’s place in a diversified portfolio. Thanks Paul.
