Listed below are updates to the top ten domain sales from a year ago, as ranked by DN Journal.
1. Kiwi.com sold for $800,000
This domain was needed as part of a rebrand for the travel agency previously known as “Skypicker”. The Czech Republic based company describes themselves as, “an online travel agency with groundbreaking Virtual Interlining technology and a focus on exceptional customer service.” They’re the traffic leader for the week, with an impressive Alexa rank near 13,000.
2. Circa.com sold for $150,000
This domain was an upgrade from CircaNews.com, “the fastest growing mobile‐friendly VOD news and entertainment portal for the next generation and we are dedicated to reporting the news and sharing entertainment with video and articles crafted entirely with your smartphone in mind.” The company has raised nearly $5 million in funding, and the site has an Alexa rank near 75,000.
3. Pferde.net sold for $49,950
The domain appears to translate from German as “horse”, and it forwards to ErfolgsPferde.de, which I believe is “successful horses”. The site promotes a riding facility about 35 minutes outside of Munich, Germany.
4. 1787.com sold for $40,501
The domain has a simple for sale lander live, and is owned by an individual in China.
5. FZV.com sold for $26,085
The domain is parked, and owned by “Keywords.de GmbH” of Germany.
6. NZE.com sold for $26,000
7. IVJ.com sold for $25,000
7. OEJ.com sold for $25,000
All three domains above are parked and owned by “The Web Group” of Washington DC.
7. KDU.com sold for $25,000
The domain is parked, and owned by the same group as FZV.com, which is #5 above.
10. TennisInstruction.com sold for $15,000
You can see the screenshot below, but the site isn’t fully developed yet…..there is alot of the canned “lorem ipsum” text throughout. The owner has a Santa Ana, California address.
On a related note, it was announced this week that Tennis.com is being sold as part of an $8 million deal which includes other assets.
