The screenshots below are examples of buyers of domains from the past year that have either developed their sites, or purchased an upgrade domain and have redirected their acquisition to an existing website.
Woodpeckers.com sold for $9,000 at Flippa, and the domain was an excellent upgrade from Woodpeck.com, which is where Woodpeckers.com is still redirected. Based on screenshots from Archive.org, their site has been branded as “Woodpeckers” dating back to the 90’s, yet they never had their matching domain. “Woodpeckers was established in September of 1988. Our focus has always been woodworking tools.”
ShopLite.com sold for $8,000 at Sedo. The domain is under privacy, but you can see the start of their site below. Their Facebook page describes the future service as follows, “Make your dream lifestyle come true on your own terms. At ShopLite, applying for installment plans is simple—no more additional expenses, lengthy procedures, complicated requirements, and long waiting time.”
Newable.com sold for $7,500 at Sedo, and the domain was an upgrade from Newable.co.uk, which is where the .com is redirected. “We help businesses start up and expand through a range of funding and mentoring products and service. We help companies navigate business critical issues ranging from risk assurance to governance through independent consultancy advice.”
Cybertek.com sold for $5,597 at Sedo, and the domain was an upgrade from Cybertek.fr. Per Google Translate, “Desktops, Laptops, PCs for Gamer, Computer Peripherals at Discount Prices for Home & Home Office!“
HappySticks.com sold for $5,500 at Sedo, and it’s another marijuana-related site without the word pot / marijuana / canna / weed / etc in their domain. “Happy Sticks is 100% committed to the design and delivery of the world’s best electronic Vaping experience available, and we exist to create a truly superior alternative to the pleasures and satisfaction derived from traditional combustible marijuana.” They also smartly own the singular HappyStick.com.
Exuberance.com sold for $2,500 at Sedo, and the site is “New York’s first LGBTQ luxury design & lifestyle media brand. An affirmation of the LGBTQ lifestyle with a focus on the best and brightest in design.” Kudos to the buyer for a great price on the domain…..a bargain wholesale price for an end user.
