Until recently, I haven’t done a great job leading by example but I am completely in to alternative energy. I realize that the creation and building of batteries is super harmful on the environment but like anything, I am hoping that an improvement in battery technology will help us use less of them and better, more efficient storage. Of course, the biggest move we can all make is quit driving these enormous vehicles to and from work. The amount of empty space in cars is ridiculous. The honest truth is nobody really cares. Everyone will pay $50K plus for a truck that they really never use. But the Ford Lightning will be a huge catalyst in changing that. It’s the main reason I invested in Ford. Same big truck people are used to but with no gas, long range, and the ability to do everything their standard truck can do at the same price. It also helps your home. No need for batteries to back up your house or solar panels. Merely park it in your garage and it can keep your house running for 4 days if your electricity goes out. Charge it during non peak and with the push of a button it will sell energy back to the grid. Or better yet, charge it with solar panels and sell it back. At the nursery we are setting up panels where people can charge for free while they shop. An incentive to come out to the nursery and buy something. I also have a goal of opening a gas station with a fast charge station. We have commercial land along a major highway and I think adding a supercharger, fast chargers, and traditional gas, with a convenience store would kill.
From a domains standpoint I think there are still some bargains out there to be had. I picked up SolarHomes dot come for a much lower price than you’d ever expect and I am always looking for good charging names. We are early in charging and solar. Very early.
