Big day in the Cultra house today. My wife turns 55. I could go on and on about her but simply said, I picked a pretty good life partner. I’ll be married 30 years but if you hung out with us around the house you would think we were both 30. We run together every morning (she chases me), have great conversation, and laugh every single day. We have never had one argument last until the morning. It doesn’t mean we haven’t argued but the truth be told it was always about parenting. We’d argue over how to approach a problem our kid was having. If you ask them if I get mad and undoubtedly they will tell you about one time where I threw a Chipotle burrito against the wall and I missed the wall and instead it went between the fridge and the wall. Recorded as the toughest burrito against the wall cleanup in history. Other than that not many memorable.
When you love and respect someone to the fullest there is no reason to fight. You also learn that most things aren’t worth fighting for and you give in. Because giving in hurts nothing 99% of the time except your pride.
So if you like me, you like her because she made me the man I am (Mom and Dad molded the first 18 years). I hope and pray I get another 30 years to keep laughing and having fun
