DomainShane’s BIG LIST of Domain Name Auction Picks: Wednesday 9/17

Escrow.com

Yesterday during negotiations I was presented an offer from a potential buyer of one of my domains.  $250 plus 5% ownership of new company formed and 25% of revenues for the first 5 years.  I have to admit it could be a big offer but I also know that everyone has big plans for their domain.  And those big plans often fail to materialize.  I originally thought about countering with ownership percentage and other things but came up with a payment plan instead.  Some up front, a little in the middle and heavy in the back end at 5 years.  Lack of payment and I keep the domain. I figured if he really did as well as he thought it would be a great deal on the domain and for me I would get some income and a solid price for the name.  It’s been a few days and I haven’t heard back.  I’ve actually answered more offers this month than I have the past 12 months combined.  Haven’t sold much but you have to start with an offer before you can sell.  Here are today’s names.

CompTips.com  17 years old. NO bidders.  I have had great luck using comp tips from sites to get upgraded rooms in Vegas. Easy site to build

BermudaHotels.com   Any time Google has a swipe of all the hotels at the top when you type in your domain then you know you have a valuable name

Juco.net  Opening bid is $50 and I think its worth it because it stands for Junior College

TheSongWriters.com  I figured this might get overlooked because of the “The” but I was wrong. Getting a little love

OnlineHealthQuote.com  No bids. Not a bad lead gen site name for $12

VHJ.com  Hasn’t been a LLL.com go for under $10K in a while (although I thought I saw one go for $10K somewhere now that I think of it)

0DH.com  Zero D H.  As I’ve said before.  The zero, 0 thing doesn’t seem to stop bidders

LUUQ.com   Love the double Us.  I think it makes a cool, unique brand

10209.com  Top bid getter in all of GD today

60231.com  I actually like this one better….but I’ve always like 231….used to be my nickname at the dog track

MIA.org   Huge name for veterans (missing in action).  Hopefully gets in the right hands eventually

Meat.me  Good play on words.  Under $50 at press time

Paper.me  Another one under $50.  Take this all day vs a new gTLD

56070.com   Zero at the end of a 5N.com pretty much gets it over $100 on it’s own.  No fours and you can add another $100

Wasnt.com  I’m very curious.  Wasn’t what?

YVYY.com  No reserve.   Opening bid at $150.  As a collectible it’s probably worth that. 13 years old

Working Godaddy Domain Code of the day. $10 off PURCHASES OF $50 OR MORE ACOSKS65

OChannel.com  I guess their could be some trademark problems with Oprah’s tv company but I like the name despite her

WantPhones.com  15 years old.  Great name for a Gazelle type site. No bidders

StiffNeck.com  You have to admit they’ll at least remember the name

YangGou.com  Top vote getter and price on the NJ board today.  Means “beautiful turkey neck” in Chinese……..and I made that up

KillerFoods.com  Sounds like the newest TV show on the cooking channel

VUUM.com  Double Us again

81107.com  Only 12 bidders and at $70
