One of the things I have been looking into for each type of “hot” category of domains is the “float”. Much like stocks, some of the more limited categories 4N.com, 5N.coms, even NNN.xyz are tight. Meaning there just aren’t many being offered for sale. It’s because high percentages of the names are being held by a few people. You can look at it two ways. The low float keeps the price artificially inflated because the demand outweighs the availability. What would happen if the big owners start massive selling? Until that happens there is an opportunity to make some money. Much like trading you keep an eye on those portfolio sellers and watch their actions. Until that time the key is to unearth some names to sell. Flipping and taking profits until its over. The stock market is absolutely no different. Most stocks aren’t trading on any kind of fundamentals. The P/E are way out of whack on some of the biggest stock. Tesla is -85 and expected to 150 next year. Obviously there aren’t the sales behind domains like stocks but the fundamentals of trading them are.
I want to point out that I am not saying this is easy money. It is very high risk. I would tell a stock buyer the same thing. Only invest what you have to lose. What I am saying is there is opportunity. Successful stock traders would do well in this market. There is real math behind it. I’ve talked to the biggest domain owners and they are absolutely looking at these short domains like they would a stock. Algorithms, float, daily sales tracking. There is millions of dollars selling daily and they are treating it like the big business that it is. In short, pay attention and be careful. Here are today’s names. Click for current prices.
