There’s a key point that only Joshua Schoen mentioned about the sale of Voice.com. Yes the price was $30 million but the company that bought it, Block. One , had a serious amount of play money created from the crypto currency they created. They literally made 6.8 BILLION dollars from scratch with their release of EOS. I realize they didn’t take in all that money but they have a considerable percentage of the total and $30 million is absolutely nothing to them since they literally made it out of thin air. Turning it in to hard assets (although probably not considered hard but compared to crypto it is) is a very smart thing to do. Remember ENS, the Ethereum Name Service that was its own DNS and ended in .eth. If you recall names like exchange.eth were going for $600K. Thousands of names for tens of thousands of dollars because people had made ridiculous amounts of money in Ether. The sale of Voice.com is a very similar situation and very surprised we are seeing dozens of similar type of sales. That being said, I can guarantee there were some HUGE domain sales made with crypto we never heard about. I know of a few million dollar sales that were never published but can’t say I heard of any 7 figure sales. The people that would know would be Escrow.com and Drew Rosener. I include Drew because he knows everything that goes on in this industry, whether he was involved or not. Here are today’s names.
