Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Wednesday June 19th, 2019

There’s a key point that only Joshua Schoen mentioned about the sale of   Yes the price was $30 million but the company that bought it, Block. One , had a serious amount of play money created from the crypto currency they created.  They literally made 6.8 BILLION dollars from scratch with their release of EOS.  I realize they didn’t take in all that money but they have a considerable percentage of the total and $30 million is absolutely nothing to them since they literally made it out of thin air.  Turning it in to hard assets (although probably not considered hard but compared to crypto it is) is a very smart thing to do.   Remember ENS, the Ethereum Name Service that was its own DNS and ended in .eth.   If you recall names like exchange.eth were going for $600K.  Thousands of names for tens of thousands of dollars because people had made ridiculous amounts of money in Ether.    The sale of is a very similar situation and very surprised we are seeing dozens of similar type of sales.  That being said, I can guarantee there were some HUGE domain sales made with crypto we never heard about.   I know of a few million dollar sales that were never published but can’t say I heard of any 7 figure sales.   The people that would know would be and Drew Rosener.  I include Drew because he knows everything that goes on in this industry, whether he was involved or not.  Here are today’s names. Domain of the Day:

Quote of the Day:

Namejet, Sedo, and other Names Up for Auction under $150.  Don’t see that very often and Sedo expiring so may get a deal   Its a officially an animal AND a superhero  No bidders on this nice little brandable  Met reserve at $150  don’t see a ton of up for auction  Closes late tonight.  Beautiful name    Everyone throws 3 or 4 parties a year.  16 years old.  Met reserve at $15

Rental.Property   One of the best dot property you can own. Reserve met at $600 so its going to sell   Surprised only 4 bidders on this one.  Staycations are up and putting money into a beautiful back yard is one of the best investments you can make IMO.  Of course I’m biased   From Apple to Garmin to Fitbit, they all have made wearables wallets.  No bids  I think exchange will be a popular naming convention for sports gambling when it is made legal in the US   Media Options looks like they really want this one Reserve is under $25K so I see this one selling  Met reserve but its had some pretty good bids Someone finally gave up.  Has the often auctioned name up with no reserve  Met reserve at $100  1999 domain with a few bidders  Love this one and its met reserve so I may actually be able to buy it  An instantly iconic name. Worth the reserve in my opinion

Godaddy Domains With Multiple Bids   H for Holdings.   C for cannabis  Although it doesn’t exude the most professional of insurers, its still pretty memorable  There are slots here in Illinois on every on corner.  Not sure how they do but figure they wouldn’t be everywhere if they weren’t banking cash  Natural and dot org go together well    I have a couple of coupon codes for here in case you wanted a few extra ideas for gifts

Four great letters.   P for productions   Over $2K at press time.  Not sure what else you use banks for beside saving and financing   I think of this as a nickname for a guy I knew named Casper  Sounds like a real brand and passes the radio test  Have to get around Facebook but lots of good uses for this one.  Under $100 at press time

  1. You’re right about the crypto factor Shane.

I’m surprised you didn’t mention the streak being broken yesterday with no list! I missed it as it’s part of my morning routine haha.
