The Daily recap of Shane’s Auction Picks, the 18th of December
Yesterday’s Average 4L Chip Sales as listed on Namebio.com and LLLLsales.com was $2,342.62
ZMPG made me think of my awesome diesel cars. If you drive a lot and want the most bang for your buck, the mid to late 90’s diesel mercedes is the way to go. I drive 120 miles to work one way. My 96 E300 D gets 35 mpg on the highway and has 340K miles on it. I paid $7k for it almost 10 years ago. I looked around for the best deal and found this one in Dallas. I bought a one way ticket, the dealer picked me up at DFW and I drove the car home.
I actually have another one, a 98 E300 TD. This one I found locally for $4k 6 or 7 years ago and it now has 320K miles on it. Why two of them you ask? Well the 96 made it’s way into a guardrail, the price to fix it was around $5k. That was only for fixing the fender, and a gash in the driver side doors, everything else was fine. So instead of fixing it, I took the insurance money and bought the 98 with the intention of using the parts if I had too. I never fixed the fender or the doors and now rotate the two cars. So for around $7k I have 2 cars that get around 35mpg and have put around 390k miles on them myself.
I don’t take them to the dealer, the first time I did that it cost $1500 to change something stupid. I think the MB dealer charges something crazy like $300/hr, but they do wash it for you. There are numerous forums that give you step by step repair instructions for anything that could go wrong with the car.
Another cool benefit to the diesel is, worst case scenario you can burn just about anything in it. Converted WVO,( waste vegetable oil) also known as Biodiesel. Straight WVO after installing a kit and tank that heats the WVO up after the engine has been running and allows you to switch from diesel to the WVO. I haven’t done either of this because they started subsidizing WVO which drove the price up, after that no one was giving it away.
You can also burn, kerosene, Jet A, Jp-8, and home heating fuel at your own risk and depending on the fuel tax regulations of your local municipality or state, but it’s nice to know you have the option. I’m thinking that’ll be pretty handy during the Zombie Apocalypse.
Wezy.com Jr. Birdman. Oh that’s Weezy. I started from the bottom now we’re here? Oh that’s Drake. I’m old and so is the domain. 17 years old
1375 USD, Even misspelled I still envision a site that sells black market inhalers or nebulizers smuggled in from Mexico
Mery.com Someone is forgetting some letters. Still a nice LLLL.com according to all the bids
4700 USD They kept bidding from Christmas Cheer and Egg Nog.
HotToddy.com I use this term all winter. Ironically just used it today and see its up for auction. I think its a four figure name. I am a bidder
1,075 USD I have to say that I never use this term. Even if I drank spiked hot tea I’d probably say “I’ll take hot tea with booze in it.”
FreshNutrition.com A nice, healthy sounding name. 16 years old. And because Stale Nutrition doesn’t have the same ring to it.
787 USD You can use fresh + any food keyword and have a good name. StaleNutrition.com is available for registration.
PTHR.com 15 years old. I think it sells for $2400
2126 USD Just short of the mark
FlashNames.com I figures you guys would like this for one of your businesses you are going to start up but don’t
206 USD, Or we like it to sell to others for sites that they’re never going to start. I have a really easy way to add all your names to a site as woocommerce product pages if anyone’s interested. I keep meaning to do it myself…
RKR.net Nice pattern. This is going to do well in that country where they make iPhones
TBTK.com 14 years old. This is the kind of name that people who live in a country where there once was a leader named Mao would like
2377 USD I believe the simplified version of the simplified form of his last name in ZDG
DIYParty.com I’m hoping I make enough money to have someone else plan my parties. Until then its DIY
1,600 USD I thought this was referring to DIY construction but instead of doing it yourself you invite friends over to help you remodel the bathroom, and pay them with beer and pizza.
ThisNameIsForSale.com Opening bid is a little high but a pretty solid name for our business
I missed the price on this one, but I picked up TheNameYouNeed.com the other day if anyone’s intrested.
ZMPG.com If you want to see how efficient your German car is you check Z MPG. Sorry
2178 USD It’s at this point that I stopped and wrote the opening monologue
54552.com Three fives for one low price. Easily four figures, not there yet
1,009 USD It made it, that’s reportedly a good 4 when it’s 54.
17403.com Not as good because of the zero but I think you should still add it to the old portfolio
663 USD Yep not as good but still brought this price when it was probably bought for $19 a year or 2 ago.
98250.com And expectedly this one is already at four figures and climbing. Also the Zip for Friday Harbor Washington if anyone cares
1,714 USD Oh yeah thanks, Friday Harbor, Washington, where they have the famous event every year.
KTTY.com I see Kitty……….and about $2500
2477 USD Nailed it. Could be the new site for finding a cat tracking dog. Seriously these people will pay tons of money to find their cats.
KKKSW.com I expect triple repeating 5L.coms to increase in price quite a bit over the next 6 months. My opinion only. If you buy them you may lose all your money and will end up posing for nude sculptures at a local community college to feed yourself.
116 USD, I’ve looked into this before, they wanted to charge me to do the modeling not the other way around. If it loses value as a Chinese type of asset there’s always other potential buyers for this particular name, but then I don’t think they use the internet that much, maybe dialup if at all.
ZDCCC.com One more but this one is only at $10 at press time
110 USD Look at this one compared to the above. The non Chinese potential use of the above name adds $6 of value.
PTBT.com The Ts rhyme perfectly
2229 USD. That’s a good point Shane, I’m going to start saying all LLLL.com’s out loud so I don’t miss something that might add value. Sometimes we just stare at these letters and numbers and forget about things like pronounceability or other basic branding concepts. If you heard this one on the radio, you’d remember it a lot better than others.
RR75.com I am recommending everyone has 10 to 20 of these in their portfolio as well. Not a lot, but a sampling to catch the rise. Again my opinion. If you buy them you may lose all your money and you will have to give back rubs for a $1 to the protesters holding up signs at Black Lives Matter.
155 USD If you want massage practice head to Baltimore, only 5 to 6 more trials of Baltimore’s finest to go, 3 of the 6 police on trial are black. You could go to Chicago on any given day, but there doesn’t seem to be that many protesters, wait a second, yep plenty of protesters there now.
00348.com The four followed by an 8 is good in Chinese. Or at least what this guy told me while I was standing in line at the Chinese restaurant. Although he looked like he was from Wisconsin, not China.
Missed this one. I asked the people behind the counter about numbers. Or the kids that are sitting at the first table doing their homework.
PBCY.com Getting overlooked. Not very many bidders
2227 USD, Well looks you screwed someone out of great deal now didn’t you.
Special Domain Shane ONLY Coupon…….. CODE IS DDCDS2015 – Good 30% off Discount Domain Club to get the lowest renewal prices Godaddy offers (DDC)
Sexiest.com You had me at sex
Unsold at $4500
Mitt.com Best drop catching name on the board today
Unsold at $6700
FF.net Can’t believe this one is at $500. Not that its that high but its that low
Unsold, The reserve probably scared them off. I have mixed feelings about reserves and those feelings directly correlate to my role in the auction.
Wasnt.com I never said it was
Unsold I also have mixed feelings about words with contractions. Some work well, others not as well.
Jennifer.net Easy buy and sell for email alone. My opinion only. I have only sold one and I’m not sure his last name was really FloridaHomeLoan
3180 USD Nice work Jenny.
