It looks like Vietnam has almost made it legal again to trade domain names. What’s most interesting about the articles is the fact that it wasn’t. I didn’t realize that in today’s age there were still countries that didn’t allow people to buy and sell domain names other than North Korea. I knew some countries have restrictions on amounts and who owns them but Vietnam basically said no to everything. It’s not that adding Vietnamese buyers is going to add that many new buyers but it certainly doesn’t hurt generics. We will be having a BOOK of 10 this week. Early Bird special 2 for $20. Get you name in front of 18,000 potential buyers. Here are today’s names.
BCNU.com U for Unlimited. 14 years old
Unformatted.com 14 years old. No bidders. Sounds like web show
Freako.com No bidders. I think I was called this when i was 14. Or maybe a 14 year old called me that. Can’t remember
LowToner.com No bidders. If I sell toner or refills I want this name. Low prices, low ink. Works both ways
LocalEggs.com Ummm. Nothing better than a 5 guinea egg omelet
433.net Bidding at $12 for this NNN.net. Probably worth more
ShredZone.com Shredding documents or fitness studio
RightCell.com Short and 10 years old. No bidders
87200.com The kind of 5N.com you want to own
HealthyHorizons.com I was surprised how high this one was but then I saw all the things with the name Healthy Horizons
NEW!!!! Working Godaddy Domain Code of the day.. 99 cent New Registration GOFD722A
GeoIP.com Perfect name for a site that displays IP information
Disturbed.com Funny that I think of the band from a decade ago but obviously many more uses for this one
SantaFeCafe.com Upgrade domain for quite a few companies
Civilize.com A verb that could be used as a brand. Sounds like a clothing brand
Tasers.com Would need to do due diligence on this one. I think taser company owns this trademark but not quite sure
CasinoDesign.com Billions go into building a casino so I figure there’s a little money in their design as well.
Yudda.com The kind of 5L.com I like
Voona.com And this one as well. Both would make great brands
RandomPhotos.com As I said last week. Perhaps the easiest buildout in history
UpStyle.com Nice fashion name
Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details. *All names chosen by me, Shane, and the goal of this list is to have all links be paid through commission . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything I say is based on my own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or my opinion is correct.
Disturbed.com could be problematic, since there are 2 trademarks on the word “disturbed”.
Tasers.com has been for sale a few times and trademark issues are always mentioned, so be careful.
I bid $501 now for RandomPhotos.com but it is a Namejet reserve auction, so that is below the reserve.
I should add that for RandomPhotos.com, when you wrote “Perhaps the easiest buildout in history”, you were more correct then you could possibly know, since I already have a random photos site at http://www.dumb.com/randomphotos/ so I could just make a copy of that site and put it on the domain.
The last time randomphotos was up for auction, it was actually an auction.
callmemaybe $630 4/21/2013
wb123 $620 4/21/2013
When you are bidding against the domain owner, it is more like attempting to buy a domain wholesale.
I wonder if wb123 will go for it the second time?
