THE BIG AFTERMARKET LIST: Tuesday’s Domains at Auction or Dropping on June 10th, 2014

Escrow.com

Today was a good day in the Cultra family. Probably more for my daughter than me.  Apple shares divided in a 7 for 1 split giving us thousands more shares.  I’ve told the story before but my family has been using Apple since 1976.  My grandfather was way ahead of his time and programmed his Apple II to be the taging machine for the nursery.  Our nursery has run on Apple ever since.  We were cool in the 70s and 80s.  Looked like idiots in the 90s and got cool again over the last 7 years.  We are beta testers for many of the largest business software writers for Mac because we were the original users.  And all the while we bought shares of the company we love.  We’ve sold shares over the years to buy land, buy houses, and invest in the business over years (we sold a little too much when it hit $100 a few years back). .   Many of the shares were purchased at under a dollar split adjusted.

They always tell you to invest in what you know and every day for almost 40  years I’ve had a little apple symbol sitting in front of me.  And while we still sell a little stock in times of need, I still find myself buying a few shares every year because I can’t seem to find a company I feel more confident in.  I don’t consider myself a fanboy because it’s really all I’ve ever known.  I owned one PC in my life and that was because my trading program wouldn’t run on a Mac back in 1991.  Other than that, I have always owned and used an Apple.  We even had an Apple Lisa.  My father actually has an Apple “museum” and he collects antique Apple computers, all brand new in their original boxes.  I think his Lisa could be worth $25K or more because it’s the finest specimen of Lisa in the world.  Never seen another original Lisa still in the original box with twiggy drives and all the software to this day.  When it’s all said and done his computers may end up being worth more than the stock.  Believing and investing in Apple has paid dividends.  It just took decades of time and resisting the urge to sell. Sounds a lot like domains.  Here are today’s names    Taking names for FRIDAY’S BOOK OF 10.  FIVE spots left and 2 names for $40 early bird special.  Get your name in front of 18,000 plus potential buyers.

NMII.com  18 years old.  Evidently a city in Japan.  Never heard of it but I don’t get out much.  I didn’t even know that most of the early domainers made their money on typos and trademarks.  Who knew?

VinylExchange.com  I love records.  My father, mentioned above, had an incredible record collection but gave it away because we didn’t show any interest.  I don’t think he realized that you don’t love vinyl until you grow up and it reminds you of your youth.  I wish he would have waited

PreGame.net  I know it’s a dot net but thought there would be at least one bidder.  16 years old

VNDC.com   Under $100 would be a very good buy

TheUnemployed.com  No bidders.  Pretty big user base here

R365.com  Memorable and short.   12 years old.  Under $30 and it’s worth a shot IMO

Nerio.com  A first name.  Also a Roman war goddess

MoodStones.com  No bidders.  A product people buy and advertise for

ProudtobeGay.com  No bidders.  There has to be a few gay people that are proud enough to use this one.

Fonco.com  Good 5L.com brand.  Upgrade domain for a few companies

CWBY.com  I imagine most people see Cowboy here

Wifi-Printer.com   Not a bad buy for $25 IMO (but unfortunately reserve is a bit higher but actually not a bad price)

Physical.com   Fantastic name.  One of the better names on Flippa this month

Hoaxes.com  Better name than snopes

Ailments.com   When you have pains the first thing people do is go to the net to see if they are dying

Weights.com  This thing looks like it’s going to hit $25K plus

NEW!!!! Working Godaddy Domain Code of the day.. 99 cent New Registration GOFD722A

SpecialTech.com   Tech is everywhere but why have ordinary when you can have special tech.  17 years old

i777.com  Only 5 bidders.  Under $300 is a good buy here IMO

StayCentered.com  Only one bidder. Good marketing name

DomainStuff.com   Fun domain blog name .  May be our new site’s name. You never know

Zeeo.com  Put in your backorders in a lot of places.  A lot of people want this one

MangMang.com  Just your token Asian

CloudPay.com   I’m guessing the next payment method will be called something cooler than this but this is the generic for what it will do

8030.net  $800 is my valuation.  Bet it goes higher

5510.cc   Decent investment under $100 IMO

  1. Good story but hate to be bearer of bad news

Stock split has no effect on value of shares

If anything could make it a lot easier to short with the lower pps

    1. JP,

As a former trader I completely understand. But the portfolio sure seems nicer when you have thousands of shares instead of hundreds 🙂
