I wanted to take a minute to compare the sale prices we are seeing in this chart to sales on the platforms that are more familiar to most of us. Here’s a look at the 6N.com (with a 0/4) names that I show as being sold yesterday on U.S. based auction platforms.

Clearly, these prices are much better than the $18 average shown at Chaomi. There are patterns in some of these names that make them more desirable and every one of them has at least one eight somewhere in the name, but a couple of them don’t look very special. The GoDaddy sale looks like a great price for the seller.

Nearly all of the Pheenix 5L’s listed here are terrible 5L’s (if you are looking for nice patterns) yet they all sold for at least $59. I’m assuming you could buy similar quality names on a Chinese site (or GoDaddy) for $10 – $15.
I don’t really have some grand point to make with all of this. Just throwing some more data your way.
