Help me here. What am I missing? I reported the other week that Godaddy dropped Commission Junction from their aftermarket commission plan. According to Godaddy it was a mistake and it would be and had been fixed. Commission Junction said they have no idea what I’m talking about but there was a new commission plan starting June 6th so check that one out. And here it is. Does it look fixed to you? I’ve read through this twice and I see no commission for aftermarket domain names. I certainly haven’t earned any. It’s now cost me at least $500 and growing. I’m so disappointed in both of these companies.

So are you with Commission Junction or are you with GoDaddy affiliate program? I was part of the CJ program but I didn’t like it much.
Randall,
Both. But I was doing well with CJ
My question and advice to you is, why promote godaddy hosting, when you can make killing promoting Hostgator affiliate program. They pay you close to 50 per lead. I have friends who are doing great with hostgator affiliate hosting program.
Sukhjinder,
I really don’t care about the hosting part. More interested in the domain sale commissions
Hmm, It seemed like I didn’t get paid much while I was with CJ. Only 50 cents or maybe a few dollars. But, I am not an affiliate type person so that could be the problem.
well, if you have not tried and generating leads for godaddy hosting, trust me, you will be more than happy if you try hostgator, they will give free domain with hosting account.
good luck
Shane. You have to compare 0,00 USD part in those. Before there were these:
$0,00 USD on Item List: Domain Name Aftermarket – Expired & Value Priced
$0,00 USD on Item List: Domain Name Aftermarket – Escrow & Transaction Assurance
$0,00 USD on Item List: Domain Name Aftermarket – Premium
Now these are missing and that means these items are now commissioned with 10%/40%. I can confirm that it is working correct on CJ now!
Marco,
Thanks. When did you see the commissions from auctions start reappearing? And by the way, great work, I’d love to work with you on something.
I don’t get it. So its a 45 day cookie until I make one purchase. Here is a real-life example that happens daily: I click on one of your daily list items, I am taken to the Godaddy auction. I decide not to bid but rather hand-reg a domain for $8.49 with a coupon code. How much commission would Shane make here?
@Mike – It is my understanding that if he uses the Godaddy direct affiliate link, in your scenario he would make nothing since the link only works for that particular auction. If he uses the CJ link he would make 10% since you are an existing customer.
What the terms say on CJ doesn’t really matter, Godaddy would still have to make sure their software is reporting auction sales to CJ. Which it sounds like they aren’t, intentionally or not.
Mike,
Michael is right…..as far as I know. Everyone says I’m wrong but by numbers say differently and it’s the same with other publishers. We all get much better returns with CJ but I see no signs of commissions from auctions.
Thanks Michael. That is shocking! Its almost hard to believe that in my senario Shane would make nothing through the direct GD affiliate program.
I believe everything is working OK with CJ like Marco said.
I accepted the new terms at June 1.
btw. you can check it on CJ under Reports, Performance, Report Options, Product, GoDaddy. Just find TDNAM in the product list and check the sale/commission values.
I do see TDNAM Expired Domain Purchase in my CJ reports when I followed Marco’s instructions, thanks Marco!
I also see a lot of weird product names in my report for Godaddy like “Weather Station Pro 1611-IT” and “Mini Waterproof action camera” and “Minnesota Vikings Wood Finished Acrylic Football Display Case”. Wonder what the heck that is about…
