So who owns Namepros.com? Does anyone know? Rumor has it that James Iles owns it. Actually I would say that half the people I asked thought it was him. I don’t think it is but I really have zero idea who it is. Everyone has a different guess and some of the stories that come with them are hilarious. One person I talked to was thinking of filing a lawsuit just to see who responded. I’m pretty sure none of the stories are true but everyone loves a good mystery. With all the negative comments about the new buyers of DnForum it got me thinking. How is it worse that we don’t like the owners of one site when the competitor is owned by an unnamed entity. Are we to the point that not knowing is better than knowing? That all your posts, data, and info can be seen by someone you don’t know and that’s cool. That there is no accountability to a top level entity?
Namepros has been the best run, most professional, most popular domain forum on the net. That is all most people care about and probably all they should care about. Moderators care and do a good job. Who owns it in reality doesn’t matter. They don’t have to come forth and take credit for the hard work because it was just their money. Eric and James did the legwork. That and all the mods and contributors. But maybe James Iles does own it. Who knows? Actually if you do know email me. I promise I won’t tell . Unless you tell me I can tell and then I’ll tell. Here are today’s names. Click on them for current price

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by us, Shane and Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good
I’d like to just confirm that I have absolutely nothing to do with the ownership of NP
I meant Edward the whole time. I have no idea why I put your name. Probably because I talk to you the most. Sorry about that
No problem! Edward & Eric work very hard on the site. I just write every now and then 😉
And you do a fantastic job at that.
Hahaha, that’s exactly what I’d say if I owned it and wanted to remain anonymous :p
In other news. Zut.com is now at $21000 and I own RZUT.com which makes it worth what? $2?
No. That makes you a guy that comments only to promote their own names. But I’ll whatever comments I can get 🙂
rzut.com is worth at least $200 – maybe a little more.
The owners were confirmed as…

I can’t remember but did we ever know who owned Escrow.com before Freelancer bought them in 2015? Mystery 2.0
Matthew,
I see nowhere where it say. Save us all the reading and just type it in. As for Escrow. It was never revealed who the private buyer was. But Escrow.com was regulated by every state and Texas and California are very very tough with their laws and reporting. Ask Andee Hill. Not saying its fullproof but its always more comfortable working with companies that are bound and audited by US law.
Now back to the original question. Do you know or not?
I always thought Eric owned it…guess not
It’s actually Elvis and Abraham Lincoln. Jokes aside, James does not own NamePros, although he is a fantastic writer and hard worker.
To those who are simply curious, you may want to read our FAQ page on the subject: https://www.namepros.com/threads/who-owns-namepros.1027788/
Edward,
I completely understand. I read that. I also understand why that person would want to stay private. That being said, pretty hard to use the word transparency and anonymous in the same sentence. Nothing wrong with an entity having private owners as long as there is accountability somewhere.
Satoshi Nakamoto
hahaha
Chef Patrick? Did he ever return from his domain cruise? Maybe he docked at NamePros.
