Domain Spotlight:

Below is another look at a few recent domain flips and flops, with recent data courtesy of DN Journal and historical data from NameBio.

Flips

  • Myerson.com – Sold recently for $2,725 at Domain Name Sales, vs $945 in 2011 at Sedo. Not to be confused with the spelling of this famous Meyerson.
  • Parko.com – Sold recently for $8,000 at Domain Name Sales, vs $4,000 in 2011 at Sedo. An upgrade from Parko.co.il, and the screenshot is below. “Parko is a revolutionary new app that automatically identifies parking spots that are about to become available & navigates you to one.”

  • Flashcards.com – Sold recently for $250,000 at Sedo, vs $40,200 in 2009 at NameJet. If I assume 15% commisions, that’s a profit of just over $170,000. You can see the placeholder below, and its connection to Teaching.com. Both domains are under privacy protection, and Teaching.com says it’s launching at the end of this month.

Flops

  • OJV.com – Sold this week for $6,499 at Flippa, vs $7,101 in 2012 at NameJet. LLL.com’s are extremely hot right now, but the market told the seller they overpaid a couple years ago.

Note: I didn’t do an exhaustive search of the ownership history of each domain. There are likely cases where there were multiple owners between the sales prices I list.
