Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Friday July 14th

Jul 14 2017

Yesterday I bought a big name that I have coveted for a while.   For a decade I have preached to family, to friends, to groups, in order to be successful you have to get uncomfortable.  When you build a business there are times where you are going to have to make decisions that make you feel uneasy. Whether its taking more risk than you are used to.   Or perhaps you are producing more than you normally do.  At some point you are going to have to move to uncharted territory.

To be a good public speaker you have to move past the fear of what others think of you.  When you start you are going to be extremely uncomfortable.  To be a good athlete you HAVE to push yourself several times a week to place that hurts a little.  It’s not something that most people look forward to. A place that you can’t do for long but hope you can do it again or better next time you try.   Being uncomfortable is what makes you better.  And that’s why I bought  It’s not to flip but to be the name I use when I write my book and give my talks.  It’s my mantra.

I haven’t accomplished anything extraordinary but its in the works.  And when I do I am going to try and tell them people it was all because I was willing to get uncomfortable each and every day.   We’ll see how it goes.

Hat tip to Aaron Johnson, team member of (on hiatus with kids) who is now a premium name Broker at Godaddy for getting the deal done.

Quote of the Day:  Be willing to be uncomfortable. Be comfortable being uncomfortable. It may get tough, but it’s a small price to pay for living a dream”  -Peter McWilliams

Domain of the Day: I would think this would be worth quite a bit for BlockChain alone. Nobody else agrees

Namejet Auctions  Not going to sell but a great name  I would be buying it if I didn’t just buy uncomfortable.  I can’t get that uncomfortable financially     Wealth usually takes time.  It builds, it doesn’t just show up.  Unless you are in bitcoin.  But it can also disappear quickly  Sounds like an existing product already.  Navigation + Broadcast   I see Michael.  Some see a country  Strong enough keyword that the .net works.  If you sell custard especially. Bike tires, not as strong  At $300 I think this is a good buy.  Under $400 is a good buy.  My opinion only.  Make your own call.  Sounds like a good place to see a movie  better name than

Sedo Names At Auction   A nice 5L getting some good action   Not a new G fan but not too shabby  As long as its closer to the left side of the reserve

Flippa Names

30 (THIRTY) KEYWORD RICH .COM, Domain Names, and Chinese Lucky Number Combinations!!!

Godaddy Domains That I Like With Multiple Bids   You know I love good quality   This one is lower quality to me but that is still at $2000 domain in this market.   From the Latin “I move”    Its a thing and bidders like that   Its a real thing as well.  Replacing playground mulch or grass.  Artificial playground turf   Some say you should, some say hold forever   I had no idea there was a manual   Southern Pickle   I don’t understand, I thought I just read that ChiPs were now under $800.  So confusing

Domains That I Like With One or No Bids Not much value but it IS what YouTube is built on A band name but would also be a good clothing brand. No bids The two things that even at its worst isn’t too bad It’s where you go to take your Data dump I see a photo site and I think most people would as well. $12 Upgrade name for quite a few companies. Good buy under $50 IMO The most important part of being a professor. The guys that bring in the money are the rock stars. Not the teachers. Help others learn to write grants Kids company all the way. Probably playgrounds Good adult name Brandbucket type domain. Somebody has to want this for domain use alone. And its only $12 We still doing Some evidently are I may buy this one for Travis for his birthday I think all leaf names make good canna names

Hey Shane .. congratulations .. I’m not sure what you paid for it but I’m guessing more than a few dollars .. so next time you want to get uncomfortable might I suggest a much more economical method. Buy a bunch of thumbtacks at your local dollar store and put them on your chair when you write you blog! 😉
Seriously though .. I like the name for exactly the reason you mentioned. On the surface some seemingly negative names might not have much potential .. unless you can see a deeper meaning to it like you have here … hopefully for you the seller didn’t see it the same way you did! lol

I don’t think you need to reach deep on this one. Its a word that is used to describe every day. I bought it directly from Godaddy’s portfolio which tells you it was not cheap. Gotta spend money to make money

Yup .. I agree this is certainly one of the more obvious negative names that can easily be turned on it’s head. What I was trying to say was more that for every one name like that, you’ll have 50 like unsparingly .. where the twist unfortunately just isn’t obvious enough to market it that way.
That was a problem I think a lot of us have at the start .. we think negative names can be used to show how to overcome those things. Sometimes is works .. sometimes it doesn’t.
Most obvious example would be Viral. Initially negative on the health front, but now obviously great for anything social media. While virus is very similar, it doesn’t work like viral does.

Great idea, Shane! Many years ago, I purchased for similar reasons. However, I have never realized my vision for it and because of personal circumstances, likely never will. So if anyone out there is interested, let me know.

I enjoy your excellent blog. Keep it up.

Thank you Winston. I can honestly say I have never used the word unsparingly in my speech nor have I heard anyone use it when talking to me. Then again, do great things with it and the whole world will know the word

Looks like there are no trademarks on that term and for that price you should do very well with it without any worries.
