As domains get more valuable it was inevitable that less and less quality names would be dropping. That lack of inventory is driving up prices on the best quality names that do actually make it through. Because everyone is competing within a smaller pool. And even when the good names come to auction, somebody contact the owner direct so the name gets renewed and the owner gets to sell and keep the money instead of Godaddy. It happened on Pogostick.com this week. I was at $3K but got renewed. Of course after the auction was canceled I emailed owner and tried to buy like everyone else. Of course there are bargains to be had but its more like panning for gold at the gold mine museum than when it was actually a gold mine.
On another note, Sedo sold Kaffe.de this week for $20oK EUR. A great sale but what makes it even better is the sellers actually bought it not that long ago for $100K EUR at SEDO. Then turns around and sells it back on Sedo. A great flip Here are today’s names. Click for most recent price

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. I Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by me, Shane or Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything I say is based on my own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or my opinion is correct. I hand choose my names but I am paid to make this list by the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good
I’ve found a huge drop in good names that slipped through GD relatively unnoticed, combined with a significant increase in competition .. starting around 1-2 months ago. My personal daily list is about 60-70% as long as it used to be, and of the ones that move to close out that rate itself has gone down as well, so the total number of decent domains going to closeout is about half of what it used to be.
.
Something you’ve said several times on Sherpa about Summer being really quiet make me think that maybe it’s simply a matter of less domains dropping, and therefore the rest become more visible and fought over?
.
PS) You have kolum.coms (extra S) instead kolum.com (link doesn’t work I’m guessing for that reason).
Ategy,
thanks for info and fixed the link
extraseats.com looks like its been renewed as link does not work ?
