Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Friday September 8th

Sep 08 2017

As domains get more valuable it was inevitable that less and less quality names would be dropping.  That lack of inventory is driving up prices on the best quality names that do actually make it through.  Because everyone is competing within a smaller pool.   And even when the good names come to auction, somebody contact the owner direct so the name gets renewed and the owner gets to sell and keep the money instead of Godaddy.   It happened on this week.  I was at $3K but got renewed. Of course after the auction was canceled  I emailed owner and tried to buy like everyone else.  Of course there are bargains to be had but its more like panning for gold at the gold mine museum than when it was actually a gold mine.

On another note, Sedo sold this week for $20oK EUR.  A great sale but what makes it even better is the sellers actually bought it not that long ago for $100K EUR at SEDO.  Then turns around and sells it back on Sedo.   A great flip Here are today’s names. Click for most recent price

Quote of the Day: “Don’t let yesterday take up too much of your today

Domain of the Day:    Getting great bids and probably harder than a backflip

Namejet , DropCatch, and Sedo Names at Auction   Sounds very professional.  Like their rate isn’t going to be 15%.  85 bidders   Millions of dollars have been made challenging people to try to do certain tasks.  9 bidders  Quite complaining about unfair advantage.  By your script to run an API now.  OK make the site thats sells the script. 60 bidders  26 bidders at $550   DN for damn nice   Going to take $5 or 6 or $7K to take this one  Met reserve but its a pretty solid price  I touched down in this land one time in the middle of the pouring rain    Baseball and sales  1998 domain.  Been hot and heavy since 98   No bids   Closes soon, has one bidder  Closes today.  No more jokes about it triggering around me  Bees are all the rage right now.  People actually are trying to make sure they don’t go away

Godaddy Domains That I Like With Multiple Bids   It has a hyphen but it has history.  Literally.  Has age and tons of backlinks   I’ve said it a lot lately.  Homecare and assisted living is one of the hottest markets right now  88LL are still in high demand. A chance at four figures    Maybe five figures.  I am not saying pay 5 figures, just saying that others may be willing  Another nice healthcare domains   Under $500 would be a great buy IMO   A few companies share the name.  Highest on Google makes racing seats

Domains That I Like With One or No Bids One of the better keywords that go with a dot info on GD in a while

ExtraSeats.coms This is one I wanted to leave off the list but I have a busy day today so I can’t sit through the auction Open source technology. At least I know I can spell this one. No bidders Lots of uses on this one. Even our industry needs tools to track down domain owners Already at three figures. 5Ls keep moving up 5L with no bid

Other Domains With Bids

If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by me, Shane or Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything I say is based on my own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or my opinion is correct. I hand choose my names but I am paid to make this list by the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good

I’ve found a huge drop in good names that slipped through GD relatively unnoticed, combined with a significant increase in competition .. starting around 1-2 months ago. My personal daily list is about 60-70% as long as it used to be, and of the ones that move to close out that rate itself has gone down as well, so the total number of decent domains going to closeout is about half of what it used to be.
Something you’ve said several times on Sherpa about Summer being really quiet make me think that maybe it’s simply a matter of less domains dropping, and therefore the rest become more visible and fought over?
PS) You have kolum.coms (extra S) instead (link doesn’t work I’m guessing for that reason).
