Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Monday October 2nd, 2017

Escrow.com

I’m sure everyone has this guy.  He didn’t like the price so now he comes in every once in a while under a new name (but same IP) and makes offers of $10K or more.  One time he even set up escrow.  But did’t pay.  This week he put in a $47,000 bid.  I said I didn’t want to play games and he responded with “I don’t know what you’re talking about, I am an accountant for a buying group interested in the name”  I said great, I’ll have my lawyer send over a buy agreement.  Of course he hasn’t responded.  I’m just amazed how much time the guy has taken out of his day to play the game.   I don’t mind because it means deep down he wants the name.  Just doesn’t like the price.  I’ll have the name until he changes his mine or someone else buys it.  The name is eHort dot com in case you’re interested.  Here are today’s names, you have to click to see current price.

  1. Is it me ? ehort.com i would of broken is arm of at $10k as tbh its reg fee name to me or am i missing something ? does it mean something or got a tom of traffic ?

    1. hort is short for horticulture. e because it’s online. I think Shane is saying that the guy regularly makes bogus 10k+ offers. I’m not sure what the original offer was, but I’m pretty sure it was a lot lower than that.

      1. Sorry for being so slow to answer. Travis is correct. The point of the blurb was to show that I quoted him a price in the mid XXXX and he rejected it. Then he accepted but never paid escrow. He came back and offered
more and did the same thing. Now he has come back several times raising his price but never intends to pay. Just to waste my time. The first time he didn’t pay escrow I asked him why he went through the whole process
and didn’t pay. He said it was so he could get my direct email.

As for the name, people have trouble spelling horticulture easily so those in the industry just call it hort. Hort is a billion dollar business, e is online. Thus the interest. And there is quite a bit of it.

    2. Must be an anagram that meets his purposes. Maybe e-horticulture. Otherwise, it’s just another one of those random “pronounceable” 5L dotcom’s.
