Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Sunday February 12th

Escrow.com

Poor Flippa.  It’s really struggling right now.  The owners seem to be interested in all their other investments and have kind of let their baby get away.  No more advertising, no more Kevin Fink, and a concentration on selling websites.  Not to mention a new player to the auction market is coming out to try and eat their lunch.   They are a couple more bad moves away from becoming BIDO with a good website sales division.  Hopefully whoever is running the ship with get it righted.  This industry needs as many good auction platforms as we can get.  It helps liquidity.  And it helps drive markets.  Dot IO would not be what it is without Flippa.  Only time will tell.

  1. Hi Shane,
Who is the new player coming to the auction market ?
IMO, Flippa started slipping more than a year ago.
Totally got away from what it originally was – A great marketplace for domain sellers.
Even customer service isn’t the great quality it used to be.
The company seems to be in disarray.

    1. Peter,

I can’t say who it is yet as there is still quite a bit of work to do. But it will be a welcome addition and not just a “regular” old domain guy who wants to start a domain auction site. That’s been played out 100 times and never works.

    2. UniFrank has been hinting at something “Big to help the entire industry” mid-late last year for a few months .. while it could certainly just be newer tools within Uni .. it sounded like he had something separate going on .. there only about a 10% chance I’m right .. but it makes for an interesting rumour! 😉 lol

  2. Thanks for the reply, Shane.
Yes, the “regular”old domain guy who wants to start an auction platform just because he can is totally played out.
A new auction site will most definitively be a welcomed addition.
    I’ll be waiting.
    Thanks!
