Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Sunday February 12th

Poor Flippa.  It’s really struggling right now.  The owners seem to be interested in all their other investments and have kind of let their baby get away.  No more advertising, no more Kevin Fink, and a concentration on selling websites.  Not to mention a new player to the auction market is coming out to try and eat their lunch.   They are a couple more bad moves away from becoming BIDO with a good website sales division.  Hopefully whoever is running the ship with get it righted.  This industry needs as many good auction platforms as we can get.  It helps liquidity.  And it helps drive markets.  Dot IO would not be what it is without Flippa.  Only time will tell.

Quote of the Day:  “You can dream about the future but don’t forget to enjoy today ”

Domain of the      Shorter and cooler than

Domains That I Like With Multiple Bids  This is a 5 figure name to a manufacturer of a phone case that provides extra power  People seem to think this data play on catapult is cute. 20 years old   German for being a little bitch.  Trying to think of a clean way to say it but I couldn’t think of one   Not sure how long the new owner will be able to hold this until a UDRP   Arizona Rugby League   Anything Dubai seems to get bids   Top price on the board.  0123 is bringing in the bids   People love Pandas….and love   Landscaping with food.  Whatever that means   Great name for British use.  Where they use the word flat instead of apartment   Startup for starting startups   I’m a bidder here.  As easy to remember as any domain.  1234 worth more  13 years old.  THE professional comparison domain  Massachusetts marijuana   The dungeon and dragons guys are bidding this one up   the triple 9s are what they are after.  Triple repeating are actually doing very well   Solid auction name     No 4s or zeros and the double 8s make this worth owning.  Just as a domain trading play. I try to keep these to a minimum though.  But there is a market here and that means there is money to be lost and made.  And I like that.  17 years old.

Domains With One or No Bids Big Fan. I will let him know his name is up for sale Kids brand or some guy’s excuse why he can’t dunk. Yes, there is such a thing Well, at least its now worth $12 or more. I’ve only taken a $200 hit on this pattern A lot cheaper than NewGadgets. No bidders You said Mike Mann, those are YOUR words, I’m using your words No bids. Shows you how worthless .ws is. Only wish the owners cared Has hand reg value but that’s what it cost Upgrade name for a few companies No bids. Don’t know what it is or what it would be used for but game names sell I’m a big fan of seed names. Canna is helping Big enough keywords to be worth having in .cc IMO Disappears after you send it. Or send texts anonymously If I sell guns in Tennessee then I would want this name   Cheap enough and its worth waiting for a buyer.  But has to be cheap

Other Names With Bids

Namejet Auction    A heck of a lot cheaper than   Mites are a huge insect problem.  I have to kill a bunch of bees to get rid of them   In game money is a billion dollar business.  Actually I made that up but its growing every year  VR names have been pretty hot lately.   49,000 people in La Mirada California.   Maybe be able to get a few hundred out of one of them   Great name for an assisted living place   All in play now   Because Z is cool.  21 years old    No bidders.   Soccer and Hockey term.  Good brand for sports   My favorite in the last few weeks Also a CVCV but not quite as nice as the above

Going to throw Elliot a bone here.  He has a few names on the list I like   “to my chagrin”   Not sure everyone uses it but most know the word.  And short    Great online pharmacy name    More cooks than Domain Investors and we used DomainFest    So many people can’t afford their prescriptions.  The dot org would probably be better but no bidders so at a good price

  1. Hi Shane,
Who is the new player coming to the auction market ?
IMO, Flippa started slipping more than a year ago.
Totally got away from what it originally was – A great marketplace for domain sellers.
Even customer service isn’t the great quality it used to be.
The company seems to be in disarray.

    1. Peter,

I can’t say who it is yet as there is still quite a bit of work to do. But it will be a welcome addition and not just a “regular” old domain guy who wants to start a domain auction site. That’s been played out 100 times and never works.

    2. UniFrank has been hinting at something “Big to help the entire industry” mid-late last year for a few months .. while it could certainly just be newer tools within Uni .. it sounded like he had something separate going on .. there only about a 10% chance I’m right .. but it makes for an interesting rumour! 😉 lol

  2. Thanks for the reply, Shane.
Yes, the “regular”old domain guy who wants to start an auction platform just because he can is totally played out.
A new auction site will most definitively be a welcomed addition.
    I’ll be waiting.
