Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Wednesday March 29th

Escrow.com

Before I got into domain investing my sole side income was trading.  I have always been a pretty good trader but found myself spending too much time at work day trading instead of running my business.  I did my research for my trades in odd ways.  I would go and ask people in the retail stores how certain products were selling.  I would even call stores and ask the same thing.  Hoping to find products that were selling well or barely moving, all in hopes of getting early information.  I would even count cars in the parking lots of retailers during Christmas shopping hoping to get a feel of how busy they were.   This was in the days before Amazon really took off.  It would be impossible to do now because so much is done online.   But it did work.  I took $10K or less and made it into six figures a few years in a row.  But then my return to time expended wasn’t so good so I started blogging.  Basically started doing something that was fulfill but the worst paying hobby in the world.  Where I’m going with this is I have always looked to find something to earn extra cash.  But eventually I learned it really wasn’t about the money.  It was about having a challenge and that money was only a way to keep score.   I find that with domain investing.  I truly enjoy it because of the challenge.

The challenge of trying to find a name that others want to buy.  Of trying to turn XXX into XXXX or XXXXX.  I work hard all day at the nursery and probably should just take a shower, eat dinner, and start getting ready for bed.  But instead I start scanning and emailing people about domains.  Beginning the hunt.  I admit I don’t read much but I do scan.  I like the story of someone finding an LLL.com for $2K but I realize that there are plenty of those types of “steals” to be had every day.   I am not going to waste my time thinking I can find another LLL.com for that price.  But I bet I can find a good one word, great two word for that price and sell it for as much or more than the LLL.com.   Maybe I won’t, but that is my goal every day.  In the meantime I will take little profits here and there.   Because again, that is how I keep score and I need to score every once in a while to keep me motivated.  Hope you find that name today.   Click for current price

  1. Trading (stocks) is based on the chart, technical analysis and Trends above all things. Not external research or even company performance in most cases. It is all in the chart. See Michael Covel for more on this, he does great podcasts.

      1. Yes, for those quartely earnings releases and day trading you are right. Outside of that, no. Gold, silver puts are looking attractive at the moment. As soon as i get my RSI # on that daily chart we are looking good heading into the traditional down summer months for the metals. Aug puts on Watch.

  2. Shane,
I agree with your comment. It’s all about keeping challenging yourself to be better in all aspects of life.
Just in case you didn’t notice, today is Wednesday
    March 29. For a moment, I thought wasn’t coffee what I was having…
