Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Wednesday March 29th

Mar 29 2017

Before I got into domain investing my sole side income was trading.  I have always been a pretty good trader but found myself spending too much time at work day trading instead of running my business.  I did my research for my trades in odd ways.  I would go and ask people in the retail stores how certain products were selling.  I would even call stores and ask the same thing.  Hoping to find products that were selling well or barely moving, all in hopes of getting early information.  I would even count cars in the parking lots of retailers during Christmas shopping hoping to get a feel of how busy they were.   This was in the days before Amazon really took off.  It would be impossible to do now because so much is done online.   But it did work.  I took $10K or less and made it into six figures a few years in a row.  But then my return to time expended wasn’t so good so I started blogging.  Basically started doing something that was fulfill but the worst paying hobby in the world.  Where I’m going with this is I have always looked to find something to earn extra cash.  But eventually I learned it really wasn’t about the money.  It was about having a challenge and that money was only a way to keep score.   I find that with domain investing.  I truly enjoy it because of the challenge.

The challenge of trying to find a name that others want to buy.  Of trying to turn XXX into XXXX or XXXXX.  I work hard all day at the nursery and probably should just take a shower, eat dinner, and start getting ready for bed.  But instead I start scanning and emailing people about domains.  Beginning the hunt.  I admit I don’t read much but I do scan.  I like the story of someone finding an for $2K but I realize that there are plenty of those types of “steals” to be had every day.   I am not going to waste my time thinking I can find another for that price.  But I bet I can find a good one word, great two word for that price and sell it for as much or more than the   Maybe I won’t, but that is my goal every day.  In the meantime I will take little profits here and there.   Because again, that is how I keep score and I need to score every once in a while to keep me motivated.  Hope you find that name today.   Click for current price

Quote Of The Day:  ” The real measure of worth is how valuable you are if you had no money”

Domain Of The Day: A site to find out more about you.

Domains That I Like With Multiple Bids    People love the word mega (See Namebio) and they like tunes.  Should do well   I will guess that this one will hit $3K .  20 years old  20 years old.   A recorder or another Siri   5L gets a few hundred visits a month.    19 years old     Good for our industry.  A self guided parking system.  Or just a better spot at the airport.  20 years ago   The V doesn’t seem to be holding this one back.   As long as it smells better than the old breath  Don’t, just don’t.  Buying this is cybersquatting Excess for Westerners or nice name for Chinese   Double 6s give it a little extra boost.      One less number, double the price   It’s a dot net but still getting bids as a percentage of the dot com   Everyone needs a tech guy.  No reserve and under $50   These always have value and are very liquid.  Even with the vowels   47,600 backlinks   13 years old   I have no idea why this one is getting so many bids    3,000 monthly visitors if you believe Godaddy   I actually am surprised this pattern isn’t getting more bids  35,000 backlinks,  700 monthlies,  but only two years old   Sounds like a nice clothing line    They really are everywhere

Domains With One or No Bids I like this one as a VR brand. No bidders I figured you guys/girls might like this one because of the dn thing Only $17 but you’ll have to pay 87% interest At $15. Wine is catching on No bids. I use one every day to trade but it comes from from my broker Cute name for anything kid related Find a job, find an employee If there isn’t one now there will be soon. Although mine runs on no power right now Already a food brand but also a Spanish name Upgrade name for several companies Part of having a good business is making it so easy you customers can be lazy and still get it done A marketing name but its cheap I have no idea what to do with this but I figure it can solve a problem when you’re between places. OK, skip this one

Other Godaddy Domains With Bids

SEDO  Not going to stay this price but super cheap and still met reserve  Closes at 11am eastern.   Nice CVCV  Met Reserve at $14,500.  Would be a good buy at that price IMO

Namejet Auction   Only 2 bidders. A whole site dedicated to middle age women getting together with girlfriends taking a cruise.  Actually a pretty good market     33 bidders like to get this juicy name   Met reserve at $1300.   The good Western letters with no vowels have been doing very well the last few weeks   Like this one   How people that don’t have it but want it spell it     Under $200 at press time    A $30K plus dot com sooooooo  Memorable, just trying to figure out what the brand is going to do   Trump is going to buy this one.  Going to be HUGE  Upgrade name for a few places

Trading (stocks) is based on the chart, technical analysis and Trends above all things. Not external research or even company performance in most cases. It is all in the chart. See Michael Covel for more on this, he does great podcasts.

Yes, for those quartely earnings releases and day trading you are right. Outside of that, no. Gold, silver puts are looking attractive at the moment. As soon as i get my RSI # on that daily chart we are looking good heading into the traditional down summer months for the metals. Aug puts on Watch.
