Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Thursday January 19th

An article on reminded me what Travis here at DSAD told us a while ago.  We need to get the site secure and prove its secure.  If you look up in the url bar above you’ll see the lock next to our domain.  If you don’t see that when you visit a site it is going to present a problem for that site.  Browsers and Google aren’t going to like you.  SSL certs are much cheaper than they used to be and there is really no excuse not to have one if you run a site of any size. I think Amazon Web services offers it for free if you use their services like load balancer.  I looked through the domain sites and there are only a couple sites that don’t already have it so it looks like it won’t be too big of a problem in the industry.  Here are today’s names.  Click the links for current price.

Quote of the Day:  “When you go to sleep put all your problems on the nightstand and get some rest. When you wake up, eat them for breakfast  -Me”

Domain of the Day:  20 year old name.   There are a lot more uses for escrow other than domain names.

Domains That I Like With Multiple Bids     Certainly memorable.  All I can think of that fits the name is Apples and maybe a pear   Upgrade name for a few companies     Says exactly what its going to have and its not going to be a lot of muddy clothes     Not a big fan of this one.  Sounds wrong.  But quite a few bidders think its worth buying  Sounds like a place they would go to in a cartoon but getting lots of action   If I had hair I would definitely get it done here.  Could be clothing or decorating as well with 8 leading is usually 3K plus     14 years old and the top price on the board today    This 5L is getting some good bids.  Visually nice too   Who says a good photo sells itself?   I don’t think anyone has ever said that now that I think of it    A play on the the gameshow even with zeros are worth close to four figures right now   Drone

Domains With One or No Bids Cigars and marijuana. 19 years old Actually would make a good adult name for $12 Never drop your phone again 6L and I think it would make a nice company name. Gets some traffic Not a bad political blog name for $12. Trump will insure you have plenty of content Good name for a band. One bidder Good keywords. I think $12 for this one even with the dot org wouldn’t be a bad buy Funny name, unless you do crack NO bids. All NNNN.orgs are worth a bid Its a good looking name to me. No bidders If this were a dot com it would probably do four figures so the dot net has to have some value IMO Hard to make the word shoot cute. No bids The kind of name that sells on BB  One bidder.  Great names if that’s your skill set.  I haven’t found my skill set yet

Some Short Names With Value

Other Names With Bids

Namejet Auction  Met reserve and its not even at $17K yet.  High bidder is a 55 year old fat guy   The only time I go to the bank anymore is to deposit checks over $3K which is my limit.  Online deposit is the present and the future.    Adult, fashion, or Austin Powers  Generally associated with the teachings of the Catholic church.  8 million Google results  Met reserve and will sell.  H for holdings  As seen and talked about on DomainSherpa   David Daniels Wedding Fund   I actually thought this would have more bidders.  We spend a lot of money in compliance for a variety of things.  Not a lot of players anymore but still getting some good prices

Sedo   Great Domains auction starts today.  Full List Here

    1. Saw that John. I know Travis spent quite a bit of time getting everything to work through https and ssl. So it actually came down to all the time it takes rather than the cost. We actually lost an advertiser
because their ad was an iFrame coming through without security and it opened a hole. They didn’t want just a gif or jpeg. In short, important but like anything important, not easy
