Easily the worse investments I ever made where during the Chinese rush. Not only did I blow $20K on .ws but I blew another $10K on 6Ns. Fortunately it’s over and I’ve moved on but I am still reminded of it with days like yesterday. I got about 100 emails from Godaddy “your domain has been canceled” . It was all my 6Ns with zeros that I let drop. I check to see if they got any bids at the expiring auctions and nope, nothing. Truly worthless. I did make some money buying and selling a few portfolios but when it was all said and done, I undoubtedly lost money. No sense and making it worse by renewing them. Just took my losses, pulled up my socks and try and get it back. But that was real money. Enough to buy a lot of things. But its not my worse loss. I lost $125K in 5 minutes one time trading
This was not even during my trading days. This was in 2005-2006 days when I was trading options on the side. My wife and I had just disbanded our investment club we had with other couples and we each got $2K. I told here that I could double it trading options by the end of the year. I did a little better. I got it up to $250,000. So I took out $2k and put it in the bank. Spent $10,000 on a plasma television (they were new and very expensive) and built in surround sound for my family room. High end audio 🙂 Then I took the rest and put it on Apple options the day before an earning announcement. I told my wife, “if the earnings are good we are going to have a million dollars, if they are bad we aren’t going to have too much” They were not good, or at least not good enough for the market
I sold the options for around $100K. You would think i would remember but I remember after taxes I had $60K left. My wife asked me why it didn’t bother me (I think she cried a little). It didn’t bother me because I got there with the same kind of risk I took at the end. And I got $12K out of the trades even if I lost it all. No matter what happened I had a hell of a year and was going to have a great bank account or a great story. Unfortunately it was more story than bank account.
But the .ws and the 6Ns are much much worse to me. Because I didn’t have the confidence I usually have when I buy yet I did it anyway. Oh well, I guess its another story in the journey Here are today’s domains. Click for current price

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. I Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by me Shane, or Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything I say is based on my own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or my opinion is correct. I hand choose my names but I am paid to make this list by the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good
Maybe one day 6N’s could make comeback. Gotta figure in future plenty of .123’s and .888’s new Gs. That prospect would hurt 6N.com market longer term. Or not. New Gs were supposed to cripple two word .coms but that didn’t happen. Three word .coms did get whacked tho.
Thanks for all the great advice. Some hit and some don’t. The fact that you take a chance puts you ahead of 95% of the herd. My 6ns are collecting dust as well, may bounce back but hedging with cc’s has helped a lot.
Lisk jumped past $10 today. Pulled back but wow the sdk is not even released yet. Lots of upside imho.
Cheers!
30 billion about to drop into cc’s. Time to load the boat.

Download an exodus.io wallet to start.
Go to localbitcoins.com and find a 100% trader.
Buy, rinse and repeat. Once you have a decent amount buy a ledgerwallet.com nano s for cold storage. Never leave a lot on the exchanges or a computer online.
See you on the moon!! 🙂
Hedge funds short too. I expect the majority will. Many bubbles just like 2000.
