I mentioned the other day that I won’t be able to attend NamesCon this year. But I bought a ticket. So I asked Namescon if I could give it away. Not only did they say they would transfer it to the winner, but they would upgrade the ticket to VIP. Now I just have to figure out how to give it away. If anyone has an idea on a contest put it in the comments. Otherwise I’ll come up with something.
Yesterday I did another podcast with Andrew Alleman of Domain Name Wire. I always enjoy talking to him and as you all have figured out, I could talk forever. I do wish he would go longer form. Not just to blab but because long form lets your guest run with things. Areas that may not be interesting but may go into a place that questions never would have gotten you too. Andrew does a fantastic job don’t get me wrong. But it’s tough to have a good conversation in 30 minutes if you want all the details. Keep that in mind if anyone is thinking about diving into the podcast business. People’s attention span are much longer if there’s good stuff coming across
And a quick bitcoin note. That fall yesterday was fantastic. Volatility is the key to making money and yesterday’s volatility was straight up cash. Just wish I had more to trade and time to watch it. Was a beautiful thing.
Finally, I was looking for a phone to give to a friend’s daughter last night and I found my wife had kept all my iPhones and put them all back in their original boxes. She still had the original iPhone that I waited in line for 10 years ago. It was there complete with a matching box. Curious, I went on eBay to see if it had any value. I was amazed that in good shape and the model I have it goes from $250 to $400. Hard to imagine that in a few more years it will be worth more than I paid for it back in the day. My keeping the box pays off again. Here are today’s names. Click for current price

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. I Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by me Shane, or Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything I say is based on my own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or my opinion is correct. I hand choose my names but I am paid to make this list by the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good
Hey Shane .. thanks for syncing with the time change! 🙂
.
As for your ticket .. maybe a quiz of random stuff you’ve mentioned here at DSAD since last namescon .. a reward for those paying attention!? lol
Or even better .. a how many jellybeans are there in the jar type contest .. but instead of jellybeans .. have people guess how many domains Josh owns! Although I’m thinking it could be a challenge getting the actual real number before namescon! lol
.
That would be my only gripe with DNW as well .. particularly for those of us used to Sherpa Reviews .. DNW podcasts just start to get interesting before Andrew thanks them for their time. That being said .. some of them I wouldn’t suggest going longer .. but many of his guests easily could make interesting hour long shows .. particularly since some of them are as short as 20 minutes when you remove the news (which I wouldn’t remove .. I like that part too .. lol). Can I assume your show will be in 2 Mondays?
.
Speaking of podcasts .. Any more movement with Sherpa? Seems I remember somewhere Drew saying January. And I might have been dreaming .. but seems he was talking about having one even before NamesCon?
.
Although I’m not an Apple fan .. even I can admit that with all the Steve Jobs Cultists the resale of old apple products are only going to get stronger as time goes by. I’d hold on to them a little longer though. Those numbers actually sound a little low .. might be a little too many floating around still to really be considered “collector” level just yet,
Pick 5 names going to auction that you think are relatively close in value. The people who correctly guess which name will make the most and the least move onto stage two. Stage two is ‘at what price will Bitcoin be on Friday the 15th of December at 09:00 EST’ (or alternative time date).
Both the picking of the winning and losing name and the price of Bitcoin have to be made at the same time in your comments.
Example: Domain B top price, Domain E Lowest price – Bitcoin at $13,000.
Great idea Anthony.
