Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Wednesday August 2nd

Escrow.com

I bought Apple stock back in the 90s as my first stock purchase.  I traded Apple options to make extra money back in the late 2000s.  I bought Apple stock in the late 90s to invest for my daughter’s college.   It paid off.  Literally, Apple has paid for everything.  My daughter will have her college education paid for all because my grandfather used Apples to run the nursery back in the 70s.  Its all I knew.  I have owned an Apple computer for 31 years.  I invested in what I liked.  When I fell in love with the phone, I bought more stock.  When I bought the stock Apple was not the shiny company it is now.   We ran our nursery on Apple but the choices of business software was very limited.   Then came the clones.  Yes there was a day when other companies could make computers that ran Apple OS.   The stock did nothing until iPod and iPhone came around and changed everything.

I don’t get caught up on the day to day stock because the 7 to 1 split a few years ago makes a small price movement represent thousands of dollars to our retirement. It would drive me crazy watching it go up and down.   Any financial investor would have told us we’re crazy to have so many eggs in one basket.  But really it represented a small percentage of our actual dollars invested but because of the splits and huge increases in 20 years, it represent the vast majority of our total.

“You need to sell and diversify”   I looked at it and I can’t find another stock that I think is better.  And earnings like last night prove it for the millionth time.  The 9 dollar price movement buys my daughter a semester of college.  All because I put my money in what I know.  Products and services that I enjoy.  I have had two losers in ALL of my investing in things that I like. That’s  50 plus stock purchases.  And they are two things I love.  Twitter and Chipotle.   Twitter can’t monetize a great platform. And Chipotle on the surface has food health issues but I know its staffing problems.  The quality of staff has plummeted and its no coincidence that lower quality food and poor food safety has followed.   I’m getting out of Chipotle soon but I love the food too much to pull the trigger.  Twitter will be removed soon as well.  Adding Axon and Garmin.  I think Garmin makes the best sports watch and Axon is a good takeover target with their body cameras and taser guns.    None of this is investment advice.  They will all dump if you buy them.  Just talking about what I’m doing.  Do your own homework and buy what YOU know.

PS:  The old owner of .WS is dumping all his short .ws on Namejet if you’re looking to add some premium quality shitty domains to your portfolio.  You never know, it could recover.  Here are today’s names. Click for most recent price

Quote of the Day:  “Only the guy who isn’t rowing has time to rock the boat”  Jean-Paul Sarte

Domain of the Day:  RapidCharger.com     More and more things are going to need to be charged in your life.  This is a four/five figure name IMO.

LABowl.com    Might be the game bowling or the Hollywood Bowl

VIN.io    Got a pretty good opening offer

Lucao.com  The footballer is the first thing that comes to mind.  Maybe he’s bidding

Godaddy Domains That I Like With Multiple Bids

VisualSystems.com   This is much more likely to be a name of a VR player than a name with VR in it.  VR labels them and they may become much more than just VR.  1995 domain

CollectorClub.com   People collect a lot of things.  But I don’t think .club domains are going to be the best return.  Get the dot com

Kitesurfing.org   Here’s the future name for the kitesurfing organization

SalmonFestival.com   There is such thing.  I eat it 3 to 4 times a week.  Every day is a salmon festival at my house

OriginalAutoparts.com   Anyone restoring cars knows that finding original parts can be difficult at times. The internet has changed things and made it easier.  This name is perfect for that industry

Perca.com   Great name.  Several meanings in different languages.  Also is perch fish.  And its short

RoyalHeritage.com   Upgrade name for TONs of things using the mark

WinePouch.com    I think its called a Boda

YouUs.com  Not sure why all the bids so I’ll just leave it here

Barbio.com   The Brazilian soccer player probably the most famous Barbio but leaves it open to have another thing with the name

MakeItPublic.com    My guess is this would be a public records activism site

InnerBeing.com   People are starting to figure out that they need to work their inner self as much as their physical self

  1. Chipotle death crossed last July 2016 (50 ma through the 200 ma) on the weekly chart. And about to death cross on the daily chart.
    Get out STAT!
Looks headed to $250 lt support.

  2. Trading domains for equity has been my best investment ever enough to buy a house or two.
