Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Wednesday May 2nd , 2018

I’ve been in sales a long time.  I know how to negotiate and although I do get emotionally involved when I want something, I have gotten pretty good at not having to have something.  One thing I don’t like is someone using the old salesman statements.    Things that everyone says all the time in an attempt to influence my decision. Which is never does.  Usually just gets me to start ignoring the emails.

  1.  I have another buyer that is interested so you probably need to make an offer quickly/bump your bid
  2. I’m not making much on this name/my commission is almost nothing on this one
  3. This name is perfect for the following industries x,y, z,  (like I don’t know why I am buying it)
  4. I’m not really interested in selling the name but I would take a good offer.  (If you are taking an offer means you are interested in selling/ not interested is thanks but no thanks reply)
  5. I need to have it done by today.   (On he sales side, of course I’ll get i done.  On he buy side, the name has no action for three months and now it has to happen immediately)

The are more but those are the ones that come up almost every time.  My general feeling is I don’t care.  I don’t care about any of the circumstances.  I just want to come up with a price we both agree to.  Whatever motivates the seller or the buyer is no concern of mine other than price.

PS:  Love Giuseppe but THIS has a Zero percent chance of success    Here are today’s domains.  Click to see the latest price

Namejet and Sedo Names at Auction      Met reserve and is going to sell.  Getting a good price   So nice to see a horticulture name hit $5K plus  Perceived as a negative name but I see it as a problem solving site.  Nevermind. Will never meet reserve    22 year old name.  No bids  No K  Another waste of time name. Good name but the reserve is over $100K.  What are the chances it sells?  The same as me dunking over Lebron James   Cybersecurity name that has met reserve     Getting some good bids. Met reserve   Not going to lie.  Didn’t know there was a dot bingo. But since there is, this one isn’t bad for this price

Godaddy Domains That I Like With Multiple Bids  Great city, great name   Getting a good price because it used to be a company that had 1.5million in funding  I’m not a bitcoin name buyer but admit I’m a bidder here   Headed to China   I keep saying I want to get some casino and sports book names for the eventually legalization in the US but I have bought nothing   This is CCC is getting a lot of action   You’re getting a ton of great backlinks with the domain   2 for 1 deal  Doesn’t pass the radio test but I like the look and sound of it  Godaddy values this one at $5400   Good name for selling this these domains

Godaddy Names With One or NO Bids    There is a popular company called Norwex.  Also ends in RX    Cannabis will eventually be legal in every state.  Alabama included. Get in early  Who says you can’t buy time.  You only want to buy good keywords in .cc.  This is one  Could be a cannabis research name or maybe some kind of hobby group   Good marketing name  No bids.  Exudes keeping it cold for a long time   Great sounding brand. One bidder  Has chain in it but no bids  Stay at a place that welcomes pot smokers

  1. Shane,
I’m a big fan of Giuseppe as well. Why do you think his new company is not going to be successful?
I personally believe they need to expand their inventory out to at least 3C, 4L, 5N and probably 4C domains. If they don’t I can’t see how there will be enough inventory or buyers and sellers. Giuseppe is a very smart guy so maybe he sees this differently and it will work. I hope he is successful and I will be a customer.

    1. Ken,

I think Giuseppe is one of the best brokers around. He understands this market as well as anyone in the world. But running an exchange or auction house requires inventory. It has been proven
over and over that it is so difficult to do this. Ask Rosener. He tried. Again this isn’t about Giuseppe. This is about running an auction house without expired or dropped inventory flowing through. It is impossible. Even Namejet has hit a tough road with limited expiry names. Trust me, I am the auction expert and I am wrong about tons of things every day but I am not wrong here. I do hope I am proven wrong because I think the world of G.

      1. Shane,
I agree with everything you said and the inventory part is a huge obstacle to over come which is why I believe he needs to add at least 3C, 4L, 5N and probably 4C domains. If I were the one taking on this challenge I would want the opinion of those in the industry who I trust like yourself. Lets hope we are both wrong and he is successful.

  2. Thank you Shane, I do appreciate and value your constructive feedback! And thank you Ken for the nice words – your suggestion has been noted 🙂
