Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Friday August 17th , 2018

Escrow.com

You’re going to overpay.  In this market you’re going to overpay for a single word, quality dot com if its available publicly.  You have no choice right now.  The only way to get a good price is to be offered a name before it goes public or dig up a name that hasn’t been offered.  All auctions, public email offerings, or “out there” names will go for top end price.  Everyone has cash.  Some have millions to spend.  There is more money out there then there is names.  I’m not saying that the prices being paid are too high.  On the contrary.  I think they will still look like great deals down the road.  I am merely saying that its a big boy game right now.  The money to be made right now is in the hunt.  But EVERYONE is hunting down names. By the time I find one and send an email that person has received hundreds.  That leaves trying to find the people that leave no clue on how to reach them.  The dot .io is a great example.  The whois for those is non existent and many of the good names have no lead to the owner.  If you could find them, many of them will sell.  The dot coms?  You’re more lucky to get a good price on good timing than good negotiation.

And the question came up on Twitter yesterday.  Who do you think is the most successful current day domain investor.  The person that is making the most and hustling the most on a daily basis today. Not the biggest portfolio but buying and selling the most names.  Two people came up.  Braden Pollock and Andrew Rosener.   Andrew is in the public eye so on the surface he is easily the biggest and best.  But there are others that do a ton of sales that don’t want any publicity.   People like Braden and Adam Strong.   Who would your vote be?  Mine is easily with Andrew but I’m sure there are some people killing it that I don’t know about.

PS:  I am going to be traveling across the country for a few days taking my daughter to college so my response time may be limited and a few lists a little shorter than normal over the weekend.

Here are today’s names. Click through to see the current price
