Domains don’t matter. That’s what Godaddy proved yesterday in their earnings. With domain related earnings of $304 million and hosting revenue of $244 million, Godaddy’s hosting platform is actually much more valuable than the domains side. Valuable because the margins on hosting are 10 fold that of domains (I made up that number but you get the point). I’m not sure if I’ll be able to find it but I would be curious to see what the makeup of the revenue in domains is expired auction and which is registration and renewals. Obviously the margins on the expired are fantastic and the margins on the renewals are almost nothing. Getting back to my point. Godaddy missed the expected growth in hosting and despite beating the expected revenues handily, the market didn’t like the growth of the high margin stuff and knocked the stock back 5% in the after market. I see it as a buying opportunity but don’t listen to me. I shorted Tesla and it went up a million points. It actually went up so much that Interactive Brokers said that if anyone wants to short more Tesla you have to put another 5% down in margin. I was long out of my positions. I had seen enough at open and took my ball and went home. I’ll probably put my leftover money in Godaddy or Garmin tomorrow.
PS. I don’t have any bidding stories because I have literally not bid or bought anything. Just saving my money waiting. Believe it or not you don’t have to buy something every day or every week. It just took me 10 years to figure that out. Here are today’s names. Click through to see the current price

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by us, Shane and Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good
tsla reminds of blackberry before 2008-09 crash. Lost my butt shorting that turd. Hype was there but cash flow wasn’t, even the president had an ubiquitous blackberry. Maybe its different this time but probably not.
