Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Friday March 8th, 2019

For the first time in a while I don’t have a lot to say this morning.   Nothing exciting going on or funny stories.  I did find out yesterday I’m not supposed to buy .dev which was helpful.  Although I have never purchased a newG it was still nice to know that I have made good decisions.  I take that back.  As I type this I realized I bought to do a blog about running in Iten.   But that’s the difference

As a user, I think the new Gs are great.   For a reasonable price you can find a name that describes your site. But as a domain investor I see no value.  The point of the new Gs was to make alternatives available and there are.  Domains are most valuable when there are no alternatives. Put them together and you see why you shouldn’t buy NewGs as investments.  Only if you have use.  There is no such thing as a better NewG for investment than another. Anyone that tells you one is better than another is just giving opinion. Because even the biggest industry or user group isn’t big enough to sell out a whole new Gtld.   If dot net can’t do it then .run,  .movie,  or any other ending  has no chance.  The ONLY tld that represents everything is dot com.  It’s sold out and in demand.  You can’t say that about any other ending on the net.  Here are today’s names. Make sure to click on the names to see the current price and to help DSAD keep on keeping on.

Quote of the Day: “The best revenge is to be unlike him who performed the injury” Marcus Aurelius

Domain of the Day:   Huge market.  The future of health is in wearable and at home detection

Namejet, Sedo, and other Names Up for Auction

Portfolio of 25 Domains:  Reserve met on first bid., and more   Met reserve.  Bitcoin isn’t going anywhere and this is 1/5 of what it would have been last year  Still at $500 and met reserve  The weedmap of hemp   Professional way of saying Deck.  Met reserve    Great brand.  I’m sure Skinny Girl will C&D like they C&D everyone  Has some value even as a dot net with Quart as the keyword.  Second only to gallon in the US for liquid measurement  Where many a note has be jotted  I would call this a one word dot com.  But only 13 bidders   Canna name all the way

Godaddy Domains With Multiple Bids  Whoever ends up buying this is definitely going to clean up   If you are wondering if I names still have value then look at this price   I see “Bite”.  Fails radio test but passes modern cool test   Most bids on the Godaddy board today.  All about history not the domain itself   Already a realty group with the name but could be used for anything home related  Another one like TrackYourHealth.  Screens and preventative checks are coming to the home  This one is sneaking through IMO.  Everything is about disruption right now    You don’t have to be the best to own the name   My favorite 5L of the week. Sounds nice and techy   Another nice one here   This one looks like it could hit four figures when the day is over  I know this is what they call little motorcycles but can’t help but think of the Kiss song.  “Put your hand in my pocket”  I see a monthly subscription box here.  Makeup……always makeup   Everyone needs a piece of online gaming.  This isn’t a big piece but a piece   Round is good   Rental app all the way   Three more if that’s your thing    We all are.  Just some more equal than others  The term is ghost writer but everyone will know what this is trying to convey and its a heck of a lot cheaper  Retail HAS to get smarter.  Tech, data analysis, and other things to save and add sales  Sounds like the newest DJ in Vegas  Don’t love it but I do love how much people spend on their pets

Godaddy Domains With One Or No Bids Godaddy highly values this one.  Only one bidder does  The do have telephones in the UK right ?  Vape names don’t seem to be selling on GD but I thought I would throw it here anywhere  Quite a few people get pleasure from cannabis  Of course you can only get your best pet by buying stuff at this site  I like this one a lot.  Exudes positivity in my mind.  No bids Drew Rosener says extracts are where you want to be in canna  I like the blood better but the juice isn’t too bad either  Not great but short and cheap  Buy lots and lots of weed  Canna or actual flower blooms

  1. Thought I would drop a quick comment here.
A few weeks ago I “won” a GD auction from one of the names I found on your list here. I kept waiting to hear from them so I could pay for it.
logged in today and found that while I had the highest bid, but it was in my not won list.
I had to get on a chat with support to figure out why. apparently the listing was a from a “partner registrar” and they were “notified that this/these domain(s) in question has/have either been renewed, transferred, or is/are no longer available per that registrar’s policies.”

sure would be nice to know that before I wasted time bidding and waiting on the damn domain name. And really would have been nice to be informed of that without actually having to contact them to get the news.

GoDaddy auction place needs to do better. makes me not want to mess with auctions from them any more even though they clearly are the leader and can get away with whatever they want.

    1. Hi Bryan – it used to be much worse where owners would pull back their names after auction all the time. GoDaddy has cleaned that up quite a bit for names that are registered with them, but as you experienced, it can still be a problem with partner names. I also agree that they could work on their communication when these things happen. In the past, I would typically get an email when this happened, but sometimes not. I wonder if that is also a partner issue.
