Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Friday October 12th, 2018

Escrow.com

Yesterday I bid on 4 or 5 names at Godaddy which is a few more than usual but I saw some value in a few of the names.  Like always, I put in a price I’m comfortable with and then I get busy at work and someone bids just a little higher before I get to decide if I wanted to go higher. (I did get two names but I’ll wait until they are in my account )  It probably saves me a bunch of money by not having me get into an emotional bidding war but there are a few names I wish I would have gone higher.  Here is a list of some recent names I bid on and I’ll go through my mental thinking when I was bidding

Illumiscape.com   I got bailed out on this one.  I actually like illumascape better and then realized that I liked neither because of the confusion.  Someone outbid me at the last minute

UltraRaces.com  I should have gone much higher.  In my wheelhouse of ultra running. Could have sat in my “gonna build out” section but I think it was a good value

DragonDust.com  I was next highest bidder. Just liked the brand

SweetEarth.com  I would have gone much higher.  Got busy at work and couldn’t get in to raise my bid.  Also in my wheelhouse of good soils and composts

ToadSweat.com  Sounds like an IPA.  Would have paid more but there are a ton of names like this and limited sales potential.  But memorable

HydroGrow.com  Mid five figure name IMO.  Had just purchased a decent sized name and was gun shy.  Wish I could get another shot at it

ArtMart.com  My friend owns a company with the exact name.  I was going to buy it as a gift.  Got way out of hand.  Out at $2K

BigTomorrow.com  Went for much higher than I thought.  Out early

CNOT.com Ditto.  Highest I had seen an LLLL.com go at Godaddy auctions

SharkJuice.com  Another brand I liked.  Really hoping to get it for $150 or less so I let it go

NightWind.com  I had $500 on this one and just didn’t feel strong above it so I passed.  Love the brand though

I share this because I’m sure the same thing goes through a lot of domain investors minds.  So many names. So many choices.  How do you pick what names and what price to bid.  Everyone has a different bank account and mindset. This was a little insight to mine. Here are today’s names. Click through to see the current price

Quote of the Day:  “The grass isn’t greener on the other side, it’s greener where you water it.”

Domain of the Day:  ICOTracker.com  This would have been a five figure name a year ago IMO

Namejet and Sedo Names and Others

VRVR.com  Decent name but reserve wastes everyone’s time

Insectia.com   No bids.  Exterminator or bug ID

Frutica.com   Another one with no bids.   To me this is so much better than those boring exact match names for things with little to no searches

CLRI.com  I for international or inc

IslandMist.com    Sounds like a fruity girl drink

BeMe.com  I’ll let you be you and I’ll

Book2.com   I didn’t get a chance to read Book 1 yet

Godaddy Domains That I Like With Multiple Bids

CoastHomes.com   Ironic name here as Gulf Coast homes are destroyed by the thousands.  Highest number of bids on the GD board today

TrueCanna.com    Solid cannabis name.  Probably my favorite over the last month

Torica.com  Already a singer’s name but a good brand IMO, singer or no singer

PollutionEngineering.com  Its a thing.  And an important thing for the future

SmartBytes.com   People still like the word Bytes in names.  20 years strong

ByteVille.com   Like I was saying

Localty.com  Getting bids for the local thing

AZBR.com  Arizona something Realty

GetBackup.com   What a great marketing name for a cloud storage and backup company

RedVoice.com   Not sure what it will be used for but over $100 and easy to spell and say so I put it here

InstawebGram.com  Interesting stats from when it was for sale at Flippa 3 years ago

PizzaPortal.com  I think its boring name but I guess one could say that a lot of the names today and many days that I put up are stupid. But getting bids and I like Pizza

AustinCondos.com  Some of the most expensive condos in the US are in Austin Texas

AlphaRobot.com  Robots and greek letters sound cool together

Humantic.com   I love this one for AI or healthcare

BiggNuts.com  Sounds like a TShirt company from the 80s

Godaddy Domains With No Bids

Vastix.com  Sounds like a tech or medical company.  No bids at $12 at press time

LargeTime.com  Simple to say and spell words.  Only one bidder and aged

DirectBargain.com  Get the best price, direct from the source

GuyFest.com aka a Domain Conference

PotMaster.com Surprised this doesn’t have a bid.  Could be pottery or cannabis

DizzyHorse.com  Sounds like an IPA soooooo…….

eDrunk.com Get virtually drunk for $12

Smuut.com  Pronounced SMOOT.   Looks dirty, sounds sexy

TheSaltwaterGrill.com  Not a ton of value.  Don’t buy.  But does sound like a good seafood joint

LifeIsOK.com  for some Life is Good.  For others its just OK

  1. Shane, I basically do the same thing… As Ron Popeil used to say; “Set it and forget it”. At the end of the day, I’m either pleasantly surprised or, not so much. 😊

  2. I’m still not over sweetearth.com my self. After reflecting on it some more I would have gone a lot higher on it too. Great Pick up by the buyer.

  3. I snagged NightWind. Basically went as high as I was willing to go. One more bid would have outbid me I think, if I remember correctly. Really like the brand.
