Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Friday September 28th, 2018

Sep 28 2018

I had a good talk with Alan Dunn the other day and we talked about what kind of domains we are adding to our portfolios.  Turns out we both use the same strategy when buying a name.  We only buy names that if we put it up for auction it would sell. Not saying it would sell for what we paid but there would definitely be other people that want to own that name.  Even other domain investors.  If other people don’t want to own the name what makes me so special that I can find and sell a name that nobody else wants?   It sounds simple but how many names have you seen that somebody owns that you wouldn’t want to own no matter what the cost?  I see it every day.   I ask myself “Why in the hell would somebody buy that name?”  There are next levels of choosing a name but starting with this simple rule eliminates a whole portfolio of random darts.  It’s random enough with good names without having hundreds of names only I think are good.

On a side note.  I was part of a team that help bring Luke Bryan to Champaign Urbana tonight so Luke and his team were nice enough to hook me up with some tickets to the concert. Its a pretty cool event.  They have it at a farm outside of town. Set the whole thing up in the middle of a cornfield and have a concert.  Supposed to be a cookout with the band and assistants after the concert but not sure if I can stay up that long. And two, I have a 12 mile run at 5 am and a big event with thousands of people at the nursery Saturday as well.  I probably should just stay up all night and roll into the next.  Although that hasn’t really served me well over the years.  My wife and I will probably just come home early like we always do.  Old is bad enough but early morning running old is even worse.   Here are today’s names. Click through to see the current price

Quote of the Day:  “Don’t weep for the stupid, you’ll be crying all day” – Alexander Anderson

Domain of the Day:

Namejet and Sedo Names and Others    Solid name to set up a insurance comparison site.  At $1 at press time  Most bids on the Namejet board today.  And met reserve  Don’t see this selling for a lot to a end user but its still a very nice name  You know I like solar names. Evidently Uniregistry does as well  I had no idea this is how you really spell renig    Not a ton of value but a lot of time   fire AND magic.  What more could a person want  Worth 10X more than final price

Godaddy Domains That I Like With Multiple Bids  very nice THE name.  I’ve been on it about whether or not to buy this one   I keep all my virtual cars in it  I’m going to pretend like people still use these.   Godaddy gives this one the highest value today  The future of fast food.  Fresh, healthy and fast   I don’t play the HG market but it is certainly flourishing  I think Cincinnati but you’re going to have to have a non trademarked idea  We all are in our own way.  Domains are the same     Decent name but not as good at Drew Rosener’s   I might be a bit biased on this one.  Big fan of endurance things  Upgrade name for lots of Italian restaurants

Godaddy Domains With No Bids This probably doesn’t fit my “other people want this” rule but it is memorable  Gets it instantly white.  1999 domain  Will be an ag site someday  Another great domain from Godaddy.  “Where anything goes”  Why not.  everyone has their different kinks
Sorry for the lack on no bid names. Being picky today.  May add more later
