Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Monday April 6th, 2020

Escrow.com

Why do I list how many extensions a domain is taken in? Because in general the more extensions its registered in, the better chance that someone will want the name. Either as an upgrade or because they are going to have to buy an extension, might as well start with the dot com first. Its not to say that someone couldn’t have purchased 15 other extensions and held on to them as protection but its not as likely as it was a decade ago. People stopped worrying about who was building out the dot net and dot biz once they owned the dot com.

The opposite works. If a name I like is only registered in the extension I am looking at it tells me that not too many besides me thinks the name is very good. They weren’t even willing to pay $10 or $15 to give it a try. And this only works in the dot com. If 200 other extensions are taken and you are looking at the dot info its not really telling you much. Like saying your Ford Fiesta’s color is being used on 200 other cars. The color is cool but its on a Ford Fiesta not a 992 Porsche where its rare.

On a side note. I was thinking of having an actual Logo for DSAD.com because I want to make up some promo stuff. If you come up with a logo that we pick I’ll give you $100 via PayPal or 20 free listings . Think 99 designs of our readers. Don’t be offended if we don’t choose it but I know a lot of you readers are great at graphic design. Josh is good but he’s pretty busy being in public service during a health crisis.

Domain of the Day: GYR.com at $14K at press time. Guess the final result within $500 and I’ll send you a gift

Quote of the Day: “Life is the graceful execution of Plan B.”

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by us, Shane and Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.

  1. Shane, great idea to get a logo made. I just had one done at Hatchwise. I did the basic $50 and an addon shoutout – with fees it was $120. I got about 180 entries – about a dozen excellent ones. I was quite happy.

  2. I went into 99designs the other day to have a logo done and the minimum is now $299 for a contest….used to be able to start $50 contests and usually get something halfway decent…
