Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Monday December 24th, 2018

It’s Christmas Eve and Monday which essentially makes this the least productive day of the whole year as far as work goes.  Unless you’re in retail and then its the easiest sales day of the year. People will literally grab anything off the shelves because they have zero other choices.  No selling necessary.  You have an entire pocketful of “you shouldn’t have waited so long” to disburse if necessary.   I got all my shopping done and for me its video game week.  Its the only week of the year I play video games and watch movies.  This years choice is Red Dead Redemption 2.  Heard it was pretty good.  As for movies I still have some catching up to do.  I didn’t watch a ton of movies growing up because I was always outside playing soccer or basketball.  I just watched Jaws for the first time recently and haven’t sat down and watch the Godfather series yet. I know the famous scenes I just haven’t sat down and watched star to finish.  Of course I’ve seen Talladega Nights 28 times and just watched Spring Breakers so my priorities need to shift more than finding time.

As for domains.  What a year.  It was a much better year for my “circle” of domainer friends but mine was pretty good.  I am super stoked about the crazy rise in prices for single word and good two word dot coms.  I have no doubt I’ll do a quarter of million in sales in 2019.  For some that’s one sale.  For me its a great year.  I’ve said this a million times but every single name I have is from writing blogs or selling a name and buying another.  I started with a $15 domain registration and every single thing I have has been built on that.  I’m living the side hustle dream that everyone talks about and stories are written about when it happens.  But I always remind people that it only took 9 years of two hours or more a day, every day.  Simple.   Of course they want me to teach them how to do it in 30 minutes.  🙂   Here are today’s names.  Click through to see the current price and to fund this daily list

Quote of the Day:  “People who claim that they’re evil are usually no worse than the rest of us… It’s people who claim that they’re good, or any way better than the rest of us, that you have to be wary of.” -Gregory Maguire

Domain of the Day:   Nothing better

Namejet, Sedo, and other Names Up for Auction   Love the name but the reserve is going to take some work   CEO is the driver here.  Nice business name    Another CVCV.  As I said yesterday, I think a few of these in the portfolio is a good thing  Going to go to health care or insurance   First thing that comes to mind is a glove line.  No bids  I for international .  Reserve under $500   PR for Public Relations or just a person that likes Cups   I’ll consider this pronounceable.  Although I’m not on the official panel this year that makes those calls   Party name.  Exudes excess and fun…….and rehab   I like the double A with 2 other western letters up front.  A is one of the better Acronym letters   Cain.    Fails the radio test.  But passes with an A in the cool category  Probably the best LLLL here besides any CVCV IMO

Godaddy Domains With Multiple Bids  A palindrome. Spelled the same forward and backward.  Sounds like a local newspaper  Wonder why its at 5K?  Its “fuck” in Portuguese  Getting bids because of the great traffic and history   Even the dot net is worth a good amount with this good of a name  A group of Chinese islands unless you ask Vietnam and Taiwan who also claim them   Sounds like a business from the 80s   Creative insurance is what I like to call it   I like hiking names. Never sold one. But I like them  1998 birthday.   Don’t love it but others do so I’ll just put it here   A lot easier to tell your Mom you’re OutPorn not In Porn   Charter boat name all the way   looks like a mail app   Everyone knows X makes the Z sound but I still think you get value on names like this because of the X   ology names seem to sell.  Just haven’t seen an enduser.  But I haven’t looked hard

Godaddy Domains With One or No Bids TCH all…..year…..long  Godaddy values this one at $2800. Bidders are at $12 Get your lips in shape  Not a ton of value but sound old and distinguished “Handmade….from the soul”  Parties for kids  A giant new segment in Health and drugs  Locksmith marketing name comes to mind first  Just have to figure out if its Clowder or Clohder  Tap and touch make good app names. This is very easy to spell and say  Cool looking   Only one bid  I’ll take any name with pay in it and short that’s $12.  Please don’t email me pay names

  1. “Started with a $15 domain” That’s Great Shane! I can’t believe you’ve never seen the Godfather. Being Italian I had to see it, it was mandatory. 🙂 … But then again, I never saw Talladega Nights. 🙂
To everyone at dsad have a Great Christmas!

    1. Hi Robin, Shane will probably chime in with his own opinion, but I saw the comment and thought I would give you mine. Wouldn’t o2o commerce be be or or (like b2b)? The extra o doesn’t sense. There may be some value as a pronounceable, but even that is going to be a hard sell, because it’s a weird pronunciation. If I owned the name, I would submit it to BrandBucket and Brandpa to get a couple other opinions and list it if accepted or let it go if not. Hope that helps.
