Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Sunday December 2nd, 2018

A few people have asked me how many names I have.  After clearing out my junk this past year I am at roughly 450 names.   I still have 30 or so names that don’t have much value but are personal or horticulture related, but for the most part it is made up of names I think I can sell.  I would also say that 90% of them would sell at Namejet.

I’ve often thought about what my Namejet liquidation value is.  Not that I would sell the whole thing via Namejet, only thinking what would each name sell for at auction. The positive is most of them would sell.  A few would go for five figures.  It wouldn’t be anywhere near what I can get out of them selling privately or through somewhere like Afternic, but to me, its a good way to measure value.  I figure if I can sell it via Namejet then its worth owning.  After that its just a matter of getting it at the right price and then waiting until you can sell it for more than auction house liquidation.  Not saying there isn’t a business model in flipping at auction.  I know a few people that have this business model and have done well.

And finally Roll Tide. Great game against Georgia yesterday and the irony of Hurts coming in was fantastic.  Looks like we get to play for the National Championship and I really really hope that they get to play Notre Dame.  I don’t really root against teams but there is one team I’ve never rooted for and that is Notre Dame.  Looking forward to showing them what real football looks like.  Hope you have a great Sunday. Here are today’s names.  Click through to see the current price and to fund this daily list

Quote of the Day:  “Complaining about a problem without posing a solution is called whining.” –Teddy Roosevelt

Domain of the Day:      My kind of name.  Wish it wasn’t so many others’ as well

Namejet and Sedo Names and Others  This just can’t be real  I agree. Start at home  Reserve is right on the money. May sell but no bids right now I passed this by a couple times and liked it each time but couldn’t figure out what product or service I would use it for.  Then I realize it could be for any service because it exudes “done quickly”  Doesn’t make sense to people but in advertising its a popular way to target mobile customers.  You show ads only to people at an event.  Set an event fence.  You can then cookie them and target them for 30 days.  For instance.  If they are at a Luke Bryant concert and you sell flannel shirts  you can show all the concert attendees ads for 30 days with an event fence.  But, not sure if domain has value.  No bids

Godaddy Domains That I Like With Multiple Bids   Good name for a domain tool of some sort   I’m thinking beauty product or hair salon all the way   1998 birthday.   The double X works for me although fails the radio test  Used to be a knife company.  Didn’t end well and now the domain is up for sale  Another defunct company that closed and now the domain is expired and at auction   I for international or inc.   Hard to believe the LLLL with vowels are now often going for more than CHiPs at auction.  Highest value on board according to Godaddy.  One use.  Ordering lunch.   Lunch is pretty popular though   At $600 at press time.   The hiring side is the hot side right now.   The resume side is the down side lately.  Plenty of jobs, no people  Get canna quickly or kill weeds in your lawn quickly   HEATH care not Healthcare. Be careful   Gambling name.  Gamblers like to try and get edges  But then eventually this follows

Godaddy Domains With One or No Bids  Nice 5L with no bids Upgrade name for a few companies and a name that woudl make you sound like a Cuban cigar company regardless of if you are or not Upgrade name for a few.  “doing it right the first time”  Another 5L with no bids Worst …email…..EVER You can imagine this gets some traffic  No bids.  Good looking and sounding brand for the cost

  1. Yeah Shane I have had that line of thinking of the Namejet liquidation value. I figure that is getting pennies on the dollar – maybe 5 or 10 cents at best on the X,XXX value names. For instance, a sweet little pronounceable 5L might fetch a couple hundred at Namejet, and will sell all day long at $2500 with an Efty landing page – love Efty plug! Personally, I throw away names there to prime the pump if things slow down. Luckily 2018 is going great for anyone with good names.
