It’s often said by older people such as myself. Time is the most important thing in the world. Time can be used in so many different ways. It can be used to rest, to be productive, to be entertained, to improve your mind and your body. All of these make you better, too much of any one limits your potential. Nobody can tell anyone what the perfect combination should be because each of us have different wants and desires. We all are given a hand that is unique. What’s not unique is every day has the same amount of time. The variable is that none of us know how many days we are going to receive. You have to approach each day with a combination of today is the last day and I have to have the patience to build something great.
A great life has constant reminders of what is important at that point in time. Early on its your parents, later the peers, add in the spouse, and all the while you are trying to also figure it out yourself with money dictating how and what you do. “Money can’t buy happiness” and “You can’t buy time” unfortunately aren’t true. Money can certainly get you out of sadness and you can buy time. You pay someone to do things you were going to spend precious time on. These are reasons why I think the 50s are the prime time of your life. Your responsibilities are less, you should have your health, and you finally have some money. The goal is to hang on to each of them as long as you can. And that’s where I’m at. No regrets for getting it wrong early because its led me to here. Here’s not too bad and so much looking forward to tomorrow. And the day after that. Not as much Wednesday. I have a hard workout in the morning
