If you follow me on Twitter you know that one of my next guests is going to be my Grandmother. She’s 94 (I think). I can’t think of one guest of fame or fortune that would have more to offer than her. It’s also an important time to capture her thoughts. She’s 94 (I think) and obviously things don’t come to you as quickly. The fact that anything comes quickly at her age is a blessing and a testament to her lifestyle and her genes. I promised I would edit out her moments as that seems to be the fear of many older people as they feel younger people will merely see them as old and feeble. That’s the opposite of how I see my Grandmother. She is a gift of experience and opinion that is rare. I took questions from Twitter readers and to be honest, they are all too obvious and easy. They will be answered in general conversation. The big events, where she was, what she thought, will be asked. I know where she was when they landed on the moon. I was born that day.
The truth is I didn’t have a relationship with my Grandmother. They moved to California when I was young. I lived in Alabama and North Carolina so it was the other side of the country. Phone calls were harder back then. We talked but not a lot. I’m not embarrassed to say I saw them the most when my parents would fight. That sounds terrible but my Mom was just in college when I was born. My Mom would seek her space by going to her parents. My Mom was 20 when she had me. You go to your parents when you are 20. To think that marriage with three kids at 23 would be perfect is naive. At 23, many of you still lived at home so my Mom going there during rough times to me seems smart and natural. I don’t look at as bad. I remember it fondly and vividly. From their home, to their alarm clocks to their kitchen. I can still here the Grandfather clock waking me up. My Grandfather would video me, rare in the late 60s and 70s, so I get to fact check a lot of my memories.
But this isn’t about me. This is about my Grandmother and all her wonderfulness. I’m sure it will come across. Either way it will be a hell of a lot more interesting than a discussion of whether .co is just a typo of dot com

My grandmother is also 94 and still going strong. In the last 6 months she’s had to get a hearing aid and she stopped driving last year, but she still can get around on her own and walks every day. She even still does some small tasks around the farm and mows her own grass haha. I love sitting down with her and hearing about what she’s been through and seen in those 94 years, but she’s a simple women and doesn’t really see all the fuss what’s so interesting when she’s sharing. It amazes me to this day how content she is, and how happy she is with the little things in life. Anyways, I’ll be sure to listen!
