While I’m sure top crypto names are selling well, it looks like the middle to lower names have moved past the frenzy. Sedo is having a big Crypto name auction and there are some great names in the list but not getting as many bids as I would have thought. One of the issues keeping bidders away are the high reserves on many of the names. Owners don’t want to give away a name but people are going to pay retail at an auction either. And some of the names just aren’t that good. We’re past the days of anything crypto related selling. The glory days are over and its back to a crap shoot on the lower names and a waiting game on the better names. The irony in all this is the biggest crypto companies are using brands that have no mention of crypto in the brand. They want one word brands that can represent anything in case they pivot or add in services. They don’t want to pigeonhole by picking a name that describes too much.
