Travis and I bought a very nice LLL.com this week. I’ve had a few LLL.com over the years but never held on to them very long because someone gave me an offer within days of my purchase. I figured 3 or $4k for holding a name a day or two was a good profit. It happened twice. We won’t be flipping for $4k this time. We also bought Ethical dot com earlier in the year as partners. It’s nice having a partner because you can buy more names and/or be able to buy bigger names than you would alone. It also keeps two eyes on the hunt for solid names.
On a personal note we’ve sold almost 10,000 mums this month at the nursery. It’s a program we’ve spent years building. Perfecting the production, reducing the cost, marketing the product. Plant sales have actually been down this year as the weather was all over the board and seems like more people were doing more patio and other type projects. But man was the parking lot full yesterday. We have people come from all over to buy our mums and they almost always leave with more things in their cart. All day people would be coming in saying “What is going on here today with all the cars?” I said “the same reason you’re here…….Mums” The cool weather and football helps set the mood.
