Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Thursday August 22nd, 2019

I decided this past week to move a portion of my portfolio over to Brandbucket and build up a few hundred names there and see how it goes. 200 is a lot considering I own less than 500 names. It means I’ll need to buy 100 more to get to that number. Which also means I’ll probably have to put at least $10K into names to get to that number. Probably a lot more. I am doing it because of the success Josh and Travis have had there this year and my names haven’t been getting any decent offers anyway. I have 10 there now and will submit 25 names every week for the next few months. I have no idea how many they accept and I really feel like I could submit them 10 times and they wouldn’t accept the same names each time. I really have no idea how they choose names but its done by hand which always leaves things up to personal bias on a given day. But I think that’s a good thing and they’ve proven that their choices sell. Here are the first 25 I sent in. Which names you think they will reject?

Namejet, Sedo, Snap, and other Names Up for Auction A timely name with the political trail in full force this coming year. No reserve. At $1 There’s some recent sales history at Namebio for geo realtors names. No reserve at $1 Running group name all the way Ends today and met reserve at $65 21 years old. Met reserve. Great name for an affiliate booking site You guys jumped on this one yesterday. Went 0 to 100 real quick Nice fantasy football name Nice 5L with one bid at $79. One of the brand sites would take this one I only look at one word dot io. This one’s not bad Most have heard the term. If you haven’t you aren’t going to buy this one anyway I’m sure it means something. I like it because it simply sounds cool. Where all the good stuff happens Nice religious name Pretty sure there are some Moms in Chicago. Not sure they’ll be willing to pay for a domain though Met reserve at $800. Popular last name Not sure where the reserve is but a nice My guess is $35-37K I don’t like it as much as the above with the A at the end but an in the portfolio is never a bad thing Love the name, hate the reserve

Godaddy Domains With Multiple Bids Some of the greatest people I know are nice people. Top number of bids on the Godaddy board today I am. You? A less valuable form of LegalFund Godaddy loves it, bidders kinda like it Easy logo. Won’t misspell. I think it hits $400 plus This pattern is worth low four figures to the Chinese. Starting to get there I have no idea why this is at this high of a price Everyone needs a few gambling names in the portfolio IMO Love love this type of Brandbucket would eat this up…..I think 1996 birthday and under $75 at press time Islands were hot but Epstein may have brought the market down a little Sounds like a money making program you would see on an infomercial Big enough name that the .net has some value Pop stores are now commonplace. Great business model. Open. Sell. Close. Take a rest. Repeat at different location Buyers are going to bid but I’d rather see the plural…ventures Dozens of places called Zen. None of them are getting Another one I know will sell but I’d rather have TradeStreet A Hawaiian name. Also the name of a Hawaiian canoe brand

  1. I think they will accept all of them. Good names. But beware review times are very slow at the moment.

    1. 3 weeks on submissions which is really ridiculous but the choice for companies is to not use them. And we still do so I don’t see that changing

  2. Those are very good names Shane. I’d say only maybe 1-2 won’t get accepted.
Good luck – please keep us posted on the progress 🙂

    1. I’m very curious to see what they’d want to price blowtorch at by the way – such a great name.

    2. Tom,

I think you’re right only because I think they will feel uncomfortable accepting 100% of a submission. Something they probably don’t do very often

      1. I don´t think it matter if the names are good (most of these are) – Once I submitted 20 names and 18 of them were approved.

  3. Hi Shane,

I think you have good list of names…may be one or two will be rejected..

Annoying thing is it took 3 weeks 4 days for review of my 10 names…only one selected… 🙂
Well I am talking about time it takes to review another week for logo..

So your plan needs lot of time to reach the target number in your account..

    Good luck.

    1. At least their customer service responded in 24 hours. I’ve applied for priority boarding that should make the approval process faster. Just kidding

  4. I love the brandbucket concept on many levels, but their website doesn’t match what they offer. That homepage is so blah. At least use an image above the fold – or some sample names with logos to jazz things up.

    1. I’m a web developer and I’ve gotta agree with you it’s pretty blah with just the blue.

    1. I bought the 120 submissions for $100 package. I don’t pay a listing fee but I am not sure if I’m grandfathered in from 5 years ago when I started

    2. The $10 listing fee went away a year or two ago. BB charges $1 to submit a name now. You can even submit unregistered names for $1 if you want. If a name is accepted, there is no listing charge, and they also did away with the logo fee when the name sells (for names approved after the logo fee went away that is – previous names still carry that fee when a name sells). The option to move from the $10 listing fee over to the $1 submission fee model was a choice at one time and may still be. Just request to be switched over if you are seeing something different.

  5. Wow, stunning list of brandables. I think they are going to accept almost all of them. Ohack, Plowo and Blevo may be the only ones they might not. I think the suggested listing prices will be high as this is a sterling portfolio. Good luck!
