Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Thursday August 22nd, 2019

Escrow.com

I decided this past week to move a portion of my portfolio over to Brandbucket and build up a few hundred names there and see how it goes. 200 is a lot considering I own less than 500 names. It means I’ll need to buy 100 more to get to that number. Which also means I’ll probably have to put at least $10K into names to get to that number. Probably a lot more. I am doing it because of the success Josh and Travis have had there this year and my names haven’t been getting any decent offers anyway. I have 10 there now and will submit 25 names every week for the next few months. I have no idea how many they accept and I really feel like I could submit them 10 times and they wouldn’t accept the same names each time. I really have no idea how they choose names but its done by hand which always leaves things up to personal bias on a given day. But I think that’s a good thing and they’ve proven that their choices sell. Here are the first 25 I sent in. Which names you think they will reject?

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by us, Shane and Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.

  1. I think they will accept all of them. Good names. But beware review times are very slow at the moment.

    1. 3 weeks on submissions which is really ridiculous but the choice for companies is to not use them. And we still do so I don’t see that changing

  2. Those are very good names Shane. I’d say only maybe 1-2 won’t get accepted.
Good luck – please keep us posted on the progress 🙂

    1. I’m very curious to see what they’d want to price blowtorch at by the way – such a great name.

    2. Tom,

I think you’re right only because I think they will feel uncomfortable accepting 100% of a submission. Something they probably don’t do very often

      1. I don´t think it matter if the names are good (most of these are) – Once I submitted 20 names and 18 of them were approved.

  3. Hi Shane,

I think you have good list of names…may be one or two will be rejected..

Annoying thing is it took 3 weeks 4 days for review of my 10 names…only one selected… 🙂
Well I am talking about time it takes to review another week for logo..

So your plan needs lot of time to reach the target number in your account..

    Good luck.
    Ravi

    1. At least their customer service responded in 24 hours. I’ve applied for priority boarding that should make the approval process faster. Just kidding

  4. I love the brandbucket concept on many levels, but their website doesn’t match what they offer. That homepage is so blah. At least use an image above the fold – or some sample names with logos to jazz things up.

    1. I’m a web developer and I’ve gotta agree with you it’s pretty blah with just the blue.

    1. I bought the 120 submissions for $100 package. I don’t pay a listing fee but I am not sure if I’m grandfathered in from 5 years ago when I started

    2. The $10 listing fee went away a year or two ago. BB charges $1 to submit a name now. You can even submit unregistered names for $1 if you want. If a name is accepted, there is no listing charge, and they also did away with the logo fee when the name sells (for names approved after the logo fee went away that is – previous names still carry that fee when a name sells). The option to move from the $10 listing fee over to the $1 submission fee model was a choice at one time and may still be. Just request to be switched over if you are seeing something different.

  5. Wow, stunning list of brandables. I think they are going to accept almost all of them. Ohack, Plowo and Blevo may be the only ones they might not. I think the suggested listing prices will be high as this is a sterling portfolio. Good luck!
