Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Thursday December 6th, 2018

Travis and I were having a good laugh about how people just aren’t very knowledgeable when it comes to negotiating a high end domain.   One, they just don’t know how much they go for.  They really don’t mean to be rude. They just don’t know.  Telling them they are stupid for not knowing is just as bad and not knowing the value of an asset before you buy it.  That’s not where they are stupid.  They’re stupid because they send the whole thread of their discussions with other people in the business.  We had one for one of our LLL.coms that deep in the thread said “$150,000 are they crazy”  and “just offer them $5,000, these brokers ask ridiculous prices to try and make money for themselves”  While the make money part is true (and maybe the crazy), they could have easily googled “ values” or something similar and seen that $5K won’t get you any Zero.  Not even the worst.

I also got an offer for MonkeyWrench dot com for $1500 and I countered with $75K.  Their response was “that is literally 100 times what we are willing to pay. Our budget limit is $2000”  I responded with “Best of luck with your project” but what I really wanted to say was “I just hope you’re not starting a math site”

Another person not knowing how email worked gave me a nice surprise as well this week.  One of the most popular newsletters in the green industry sent me the ENTIRE email list by putting the emails in cc not BCC.  My first response was “Oh shit” because it pretty much was the who’s who of the industry and now I had all their emails.  My second response was “How do they have an email server that lets them send out 3000 emails at once?”  Mine makes me break it up.   Either way I’m glad they did.  Now I just have to figure out how to monetize it.

And finally I’ll leave you with a funny joke I read yesterday. Let me know if you like it.

It’s a bit dirty so scroll down if you don’t like a semi dirty jokes

A Green Beret walks into a Marine bar carrying a large snapping turtle under his arm.

All of the Marines go quiet.

The Green Beret sets the snapping turtle on the bar, pulls out his dick and taunts the turtle with it until it latches on.

He lifts the turtle off the bar with his dick, swings it around in a circle, spins it around, slams it back on to the bar and gouges it’s eyes out with his fingers, killing it.

He puts his dick back in his pants and turns to a stunned crowd of Marines.

“I bet none of you pussies can do that.”

The crowd stays silent. A moment later, one of the Marines slowly raises his hand and says, “I.. I think I can sir, if you promise not to gouge my eyes out.”

I also am $280 away from meeting my fundraising $5,000 goal on my Iten trip.  So close.  Here is a little about the trip and my inspiration.  I have two more weeks to meet my goal.

Quote of the Day:  “When you’re pissed off at someone, count to 10. When you reach 8, punch them in the mouth. Ain’t no one gonna expect that at Namescon”  -in an email to me

Domain of the Day:        Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is something that effects hundreds of thousands of people.  And not just veterans.

Namejet and Sedo Names and Others  I still am not convinced this is real.  But I have no proof to show that its anything but real Met reserve and will sell.  Most people have them at some point are them  Going to be a directory but tens of thousands of these in the US alone. Could be its own brand now that I think of it  There’s a lot of sport going on in Boulder Colorado.  No bids  Make your own Pheenix   sounds like you’re going to really get an advantage with these guys. Now if we can just find out where we’re getting the advantage  Get a six figure discount over   No bidders.   Now where would I find some talent  The newest form of loans.  They usually take payments out of your credit card receipts.  $27 CPC

Godaddy Domains That I Like With Multiple Bids   One of the better, get it, marketing names for coffee that’s been on the expiry list  I think every city and town has a street or subdivision named this  Unless you’re in the industry you probably haven’t noticed but the sales of 1 ton trucks are down 75% because most service industries have

gone to pulling dump trailers instead because of flexibility of use.  Trailer sales are skyrocketing  When you want your kid to have the best slip of graduation paper that money can buy  Upgrade name for a few companies.  Nautical terms make good brands  You’d be surprised how many people collect die cast scaled cars.  Not just kids Another LLNN repeater getting some action  Because its hard to consult if you don’t know anything.  Of course you can always blog  a bit generic for me but I admit I use several when I shop and more and more places are making plastic bags illegal or highly taxed. I’m liking it more as I type  Sick as in good, not has cancer  Foodie name.  Can’t go wrong with those right now   Limited amount of end users but solid brand for a new entry   I lied yesterday when I said the was going to set the bottom.  This one is really going to set the bottom  I lied again.  Even lower   Get fit, get fast  Perfect truck stop name and only two bidders at $12

Godaddy Domains With One or No Bids  This is the time of year when you can more than pay for a name like this with decent buildout.  No bidders   Interesting name in that you could use it as “Buy” products or as a name selling things that are secondary or offshoot products  Means nothing to me but easy to say and spell so I’m going to call it a brand  Upgrade name for a few and a trillion dollar industry  Get a better ride Another one that would make a nice brand.  The libido of your car No value but we all certainly do have Much easy to spell than vetirenarion You had me at keg A couple of results in Google but basically if you buy the domain you own the word A virtual catalog.  Actually I made that up but maybe its real.  Who knows  5L with no bids.  Sounds Kenyan Sounds like a place nice enough to not allow me as a member  They only deal in high end.  Or at least price it high end Not sure what you’d do with this one but no bidders  Vacuum the bugs off your canna plant.  (we actually do that but not on canna)   Good mobile app name  No bids.  Instagram thought insta made a good brand  Train with the best  Great pet or kids brand IMO.  No bids Good beauty name if anyone knew how to spell essence

  1. I was hoping you wouldn’t put DeerTrail on here but it’s just too good of a name not to have on the list. I will be bidding on it today for sure after losing out on TopsailBeach yesterday.

  2. hahahah, “I just hope you’re not starting a math site”

That’s when you need to recommend
