Escrow.com

When I think of good marketing I always go back to the best marketing plan EVER.  Back in the 70s every cereal had some kind of free giveaway in the box.  I would eat an entire box of cereal I didn’t even like if it had a good toy.   Anyone who’s from that era can remember dumping out all the cereal to get to the toy in the box and then putting it all back.  Eventually they put it outside the bag so it was a bit easier to get at and little dirty hands didn’t dig in to the cereal.  They got creative some years and  put real playing records on the box.  Even the bread used to have stickers and tattoos in them.  It was so smart. Pretty much every Kid in the 70s begged to go shopping with their parents.   Cracker Jack figured out the gimmick a long time ago and set the standard for misc free junk in a box.
I don’t remember my daughter giving two shits about what was in the cereal box.  I’m not sure whether they didn’t have anything inside or that the new generation was not swayed by a baking soda submarine.  Either way, marketing always changes with time.   All except dot com.  That never changes.
