There really any such thing as quick cash in domain investing if you want anything less than “title loan” type buy. Putting up a domain for auction and getting paid can take anywhere from 2 weeks to 6 weeks depending on when your buyer pays. Namejet is a great place to auction your names but it takes time to process. One one hand you have Godaddy that has a very quick payment requirement which leaves a lot of money on the table because foreign buyers can’t get their auctions paid quick enough. To Namejet that can get full auction value by giving 20 plus days but you have to wait for the money. If you need money in a week you pretty much have to take whatever another domain investor is willing to give you.
I have bought 3 or 4 LLLL.coms lately from people that needed money. I feel bad I shorted them. Paying much below what they just bought them at auction for but the way I see it they would have lost 20% at auction and the starting point is what the next highest bidders was. Or even more important, where I was willing to bid it up to. I try and be fair because most of the people are friends that just need a little cash. But it is business. I do my charity work elsewhere.
