Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Wednesday June 12th, 2019

Escrow.com

I’ve said this a million times, everyone gives domain investors WAY too much credit as far as trying to sell their names.  99% of all domain investors I know wait for incoming offers.  So when someone says that a name is worth less because a domain investor put it up for auction because it never gets offers isn’t really correct.  They are too lazy to squeeze the juice.  They put it up for sale for a multitude of reasons, one being no quality offers came in while they owned it. Here’s where the bag holding/timing decision comes in.  Is it a junk domain or is it a name that has to wait for the right buyer?  Did the domain investor list it on Afternic, Godaddy, and every possible place to get exposure?  Did they ask for the moon when they could have made a few thousand?  Those are all question you may or may not know the answer to.  But I can tell you from personal history that I received offers totaling 4 times what I sold my domains for at auction at Namejet 3 or 4 years ago.  I forgot to take them off Uniregistry and over the years I have kicked myself 5 or 6 times because I have had some incredible offers on domains I sold at auction.  I even received a $25,000 offer on a name I gave to a local landscaper.  I’m not saying don’t auction your names.  There are times you need cash flow and some names wholesale value isn’t too far off of retail.  What I am saying is there are a lot of solid names being sold off by other domain investors because they like to turn and burn.  Look at the Booth Brothers.  Pretty much every single name they sold to other domain investors and every single one of them sold it for a lot more.  Their role in the domain food chain is the hunter.  They don’t cure the meat and eat it later.  They keep moving.
When it comes down to it it is always the same.  Is it a good name or not at that price?  How or why it came to market is good for storytelling but generally irrelevant in the valuation of the name.  They say timing is everything and somehow the successful domain investors always seem right on time ,when in reality they just know a good name when they see one.  Here are today’s names. Make sure to click on the names to see the current price and to help DSAD keep on keeping on

Domain of the Day: IdentitySecurity.com     Should do well with identity theft and security being at the top of everyone’s security threats

Quote of the Day: If you accomplish something good with hard work, the labor passes quickly, but the good endures; if you do something shameful in pursuit of pleasure, the pleasure passes quickly, but the shame endures.” –Musonius Rufus

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by us, Shane and Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.

  1. Shane, inboundLead.com is up today – would have been a good mention with your opening. I agree, people will come to you if your name is good – and visible.
