Escrow.com

You’ve heard me mention over the last few months I’ve been working on my websites more and I’m surprised how well its going.  I decided to set up the sites myself.  Wordpress themes have become pretty amazing in how easy they are to create unique looks.  Combine that with my adequate FTP skills and I’m just skilled enough to be dangerous.   I’ve found a few garden writers that work a little here and there and I’ve got a good base to go on.  I worked on a plant site about Heuchera which is one of my best selling plants at the nursery.  It’s nothing fancy, but it’s getting 50 visits a day and 150 page views and growing and it’s the middle of winter. Should be ten times that in the spring and summer.   And the best part is it ranks on the first page of Google for the plant and many of the varieties.  After I get up a hundred posts  I’ll start tweaking the site for monetization. Start with ads and eventually I’ll sell plants directly from the site.  I’m going to set up 20 or 30 of these sites and keep them fresh with new varieties as they come out.  The content is not very exciting to a non plant person but as a person that sells them for a living I can see the possibility of building something that will heavily utilized by a lot of people.  And I work with them every day, have the ability to gather statistical and visual data aka pictures easily.  Starting out as a marketing tool and finishing up as another leg of our sales platform.  Mark this post, we’ll see how it’s going in a few years.   Here are today’s names.

Non Domaining Site of the Day: ClickHole.com  Reminds me of another blog. Confusing true and not true articles in an attempt to go viral

KnowAlot.com  19 years old.  One bidder.  Not going to make you a ton of money but a solid blog or site name

TheBrushOff.com  No bidders.  Not a movie yet

HRTF.com  All good letters.  F for Foundation.  Over under $350 IMO

HKDA.com  I’m not scared of Ks.  I’m not inviting them out to the movies but I won’t walk on the other side of the street when I see them

InternetScraper.com   No bidders.  Not a lot of people talk about it but a ton of companies scrape sites for data each day

JHLC.com  C for Corporations.  No bidders.  Just kidding. Lots of bidders

DubaiBusiness.com  Everyone loves Dubai domains because of the amount of cash there.   This one should do pretty well

CyberSecurityExperts.com I can only imagine what CyberSecurity.com is worth

HybridDrones.com  Oooooh TWO buzzwords together.  One…….million………dollars

8483.cc  Has a $2500 bid

Poob.com  Only one bidder at $100 at press time

Yields.com  17 years old.  You should want to own a few good financial/investment names

A GODADDY COUPON CODE: A 99 Cent Dot Com Registration gt99br31

JCAP.com  10 years old.  I don’t believe the hype that the Chinese are buying up the LLLL.com.  There are too many coming up for sale and they are not getting that great of a price IMO.  Tells me that the buying has yet to begin at any large level

FreeClassified.com  A little too generic for me but still has value to many others and that’s all that matters

CADM.com  19 years old.  I remember when CAD was all the rage.  Now they call it Minecraft

IQL.com   Just pick a number between 12 and 30.  Multiply it times 1000 and that’s what this could end at

FreshWind.com  I have this after Chipotle

DoctorEvil.com  Just don’t use Mike Myers character.  Then again that’s the only Dr. Evil that anyone knows

Sedaris.com  Popular last name but everyone mostly knows David and Amy

XUC.com  Zuck

Zuf.com   Zoof, Zuff .  Who really cares, it’s a three letter

Weea.com  11 years old.  Pretty too

Maria.net  A dot net but one of the most popular names in the world

China.co.com  Getting quite a few bids.  Quite a few country.co.coms up today

HotDrops.com  Nice name for a drop site.  By the way, why in the world would anyone pay for a dropping analyzer  and then let them put in affiliate links as well?  It’s one or the other.  Nothing fresh about that.  It’s called double dipping

  1. Nice job taking action and building out your plant sites! Plants in the mail? Interesting! You know this space better than anyone, so run with it!

  2. I have been with Media Temple for over 8 years. They have been fantastic all the way through. Not real excited about Godaddy buying them but hasn’t affected their great service at all. Been down 3 times in 8 years and have had no extra costs despite some sites having excess of 100,000 visits a day at times. Highly recommend.
