Raymond Hackney of TheDomains.com had a nice article asking what his reader’s opinions of whether numerics are going up from here. I tried to post a comment but didn’t make it through so I’ll say it here. The answer in my opinion is Yes. Posted were the top numeric sales from 4.cn and after only a few months old they are already outdated. Just this week 4.cn had three numeric sales over $100K which were much higher than the highest sales a few months ago. Plain and simple, the Chinese market has a lot of money to invest and they deem numerics as an asset. As long as that holds, numerics will continue to climb in value indefinitely. In China you are allowed to own one other home other than you main residence and millions of people have purchased apartments in cities as an investment. If you go to these cities there are giant new buildings with absolutely nobody living in them. Every single one is purchased as investment because that is one of their only choices in Chinese real estate. European and American real estate has become the investment of choice lately, driving the commercial real estate prices to highs that haven’t been seen in a while. Numerics domains are no different. So again in short, prices absolutely will continue to rise in certain categories of numerics. You just have to know which ones. Those in the US enjoy your holiday day.
